Driving Tips as NC Prepares for First Snowfall
Crews in the Triangle area are preparing roads as central North Carolina expects its first chance of snow this season. The NCDOT is concentrating efforts on high-traffic and elevated areas and advises drivers to slow down and give snowplows space.
Though Raleigh’s roads are not expected to be severely impacted, northern counties could face more serious conditions. Towing and roadside assistance crews are on standby with necessary equipment, ready for a potentially busy period.
Driving instructors urge caution for those who must travel. Key tips include steering in the desired direction when on ice, avoiding sudden use of pedals, and staying aware of other drivers who may not respond safely in slick conditions.
Ultimately, staying off the roads remains the safest option during winter weather, especially when ice is a factor and visibility is low.
