New Adult Kickball League for Fall Season
Cary is adding a new way for adults to stay active and connect with others this fall with the launch of its Adult Kickball League.
The coed league is designed for anyone looking for friendly competition, social connections, and a chance to revisit a favorite childhood pastime. Participants can register individually or as part of a small group, with organizers assigning players to teams after registration closes.
The season will run from mid-August through October and includes a 10-game regular season followed by a single-elimination tournament. Games will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Registration for Cary residents opens July 13 and runs through July 26. Non-residents can register from July 20 through July 26. Registration may remain open beyond July 26 if spots are still available, although the league could reach capacity before the deadline.
The registration fee is $35 for Cary residents and $60 for non-residents. Practice and game schedules will be posted through TeamSideline as they become available.
The new league is part of Cary's ongoing effort to offer recreational opportunities that promote health, wellness, participation, skill development, and community connection for residents of all ages. Sign up here: Adult Kickball Cary

Residents Invited to Help Shape Cary

Credit: Town of Cary, NC
Cary residents have an opportunity to help shape the town's future by serving on Council-appointed boards, commissions, and committees.
Applications are now open for volunteer positions that advise the Town Council and provide recommendations on issues affecting the community. These groups offer residents a chance to contribute their perspectives on a wide range of topics and help guide decisions that impact the community.
Among the opportunities available is service on the Human Relations, Inclusion, & Diversity Advisory Board, which is seeking community members dedicated to advancing accessibility, equity, belonging, and inclusion throughout Cary. The board works to strengthen community connections and support initiatives that help residents feel welcome, valued, and engaged.
Residents interested in local government, public service, or sharing their expertise are encouraged to apply. Applications submitted by June 30, 2026, will be considered for appointments made later in the year. Most appointments carry three-year terms, though some positions may be filled to complete unexpired terms.
Applicants must live within Cary's corporate limits or, where applicable, within Cary's Extraterritorial Jurisdiction. Current Town of Cary employees are not eligible to serve. Appointed members are required to review and sign the town's ethics and conflict-of-interest guidelines and become familiar with board operating procedures.
In addition to its standing boards and commissions, Cary may periodically establish working groups to assist staff with specific projects and initiatives.
More information and application details are available at carync.gov/boards.

A: Rorschach inkblot test
The psychological test of human emotions and personality using inkblots is formally known as the Rorschach inkblot test.
