Cary Real Estate Market Trends

Inventory just dropped sharply — 438 active listings vs. 715 two weeks ago
The supply squeeze that started in May has intensified heading into mid-June. Active listings have fallen to just 438 — down dramatically from 715 in late May — while homes are going pending in 6 days (Zillow) and selling within 7–10 days of listing.
The median price is holding at $640K from May's close, and North Cary premium neighborhoods (Lochmere, Chatham Ridges, Kildaire) are still commanding $700K+ with 5–7 day turnarounds. With new listings down 16.9% from last year and buyers racing to close before school starts, this is the tightest inventory window of 2026. Buyers who aren't ready to move in 24 hours are losing homes.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
A: Camels
Camels (and other members of the camel family, such as llamas and alpacas) are the only mammals that have oval-shaped rather than circular red blood cells.
This unique, elliptical cell shape provides several evolutionary and survival advantages:
Maintained Circulation During Dehydration: When a camel loses water, its blood thickens. Circular cells would clump together and cause clots, but oval-shaped cells align with the flow of blood, allowing them to keep circulating.
Osmotic Stability: Camels can drink vast amounts of water quickly after dehydration to rehydrate. Their oval cells are highly elastic and can expand up to 240% of their original volume without bursting.
