Cary Man Wins Record $1.5 Million Fast Play Jackpot

A Cary man won the largest Fast Play jackpot in North Carolina Lottery history after buying a $20 ticket at a Publix on Kildaire Farm Road.

Montford Faulkner won $1,578,846 with a Jackpot 777 ticket purchased on Feb. 3, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

The Fast Play jackpot stood at $1,378,846 when Faulkner won. His ticket also included an additional $200,000 cash prize.

Faulkner claimed his prize Friday at lottery headquarters. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $1,136,933.

Lottery officials said 14 Fast Play games currently offer a bonus jackpot. The jackpots grow with each ticket sold until a winning ticket is purchased.

Cary Leaders Set to Review Housing Plans and Major Event Support

Cary Town Council will meet April 30 for a regular session that includes a wide range of decisions on housing, infrastructure, and community investment.

The meeting will begin with several recognitions and proclamations, followed by a public comment period where residents can address the council on town-related issues.

Council members are expected to vote on a consent agenda that includes funding for a property purchase to expand utility operations, consideration of joining a new opioid settlement agreement, and early steps toward creating a South Hills municipal service district aimed at revitalization.

A series of public hearings will focus on housing and development, including a proposed $3 million community development funding plan, multiple rezoning and annexation requests, and updates to Cary’s long-term planning framework. Officials will also review potential changes to the town’s bike plan and land development rules.

The agenda concludes with discussion of funding tied to major events, including support connected to the Soccer Tournament at WakeMed Soccer Park.

Courage Hold Strong for Road Win in Houston

The North Carolina Courage picked up a tough road victory Saturday, beating the Houston Dash 1-0 in a hard-fought match. A first-half goal and a strong defensive finish helped Cary’s NWSL side keep climbing.

Weekend Highlights:

  • Ashley Sanchez scored just before halftime, netting her fourth goal of the season to lift the Courage to a 1-0 win.

  • Manaka Matsukubo assisted the goal, giving her a goal contribution in five straight matches with six goals and one assist during that run.

  • After a 78th-minute red card, the Courage played down a player, but Kailen Sheridan made two big saves and Maycee Bell added 14 clearances to protect the lead.

  • Chioma Okafor made her professional debut, subbing in during the 62nd minute for a special career milestone.

Another gritty win, another big weekend reminder that Cary is a serious soccer town.

Men, You've Been Misinformed

Men's skin is about 25% thicker than women's, but thicker skin doesn't mean better aging. It means delayed collapse. For years, your skin looks resilient. Then collagen declines, and when it does, it drops hard: deeper wrinkles, heavier under-eye bags, more dark spots showing up all at once.

Most men were never taught to get ahead of this. Women were. And by the time the signs show up, you're playing catch-up.

Particle Face Cream was built precisely for this. One 6-in-1 formula engineered for men's skin — reduces eye bags, dark spots, and wrinkles, restores firmness, hydrates deeply, and revives dull tone. No complicated routine. Over 1,000,000 men already use it. Try it risk-free with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
