Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses were designed by Raymond Stegeman in 1952, and subsequently launched to the market in 1956. Their innovative plastic frame design was a departure from traditional metal-framed eyewear, instantly becoming a fashion staple. Popularized in the 1950s/60s, then again after being worn in the 1983 film Risky Business.
