Sweet Sips for a Sweet Cause

If you're looking for a fun way to do a little good this weekend, head over to The Mayton in downtown Cary on Sunday, March 22 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Kids Who Give — a local nonprofit on a mission to teach children the joy of giving back — is kicking off its Week of Giving with Sweet Sips for Brave Gowns.
The event is simple and feel-good: stop by, grab a lemonade and a cookie, and help raise money for a cause that makes a real difference for kids who are going through some of the toughest moments of their lives.
Brave Gowns is the nonprofit behind this sweet fundraiser. Their mission is to bring comfort, dignity, and joy to children in hospitals by replacing those plain, uncomfortable hospital gowns with colorful, custom-designed ones.
For a sick child, something as simple as a fun gown can bring a smile when they need it most. Every dollar raised at Sweet Sips goes toward getting more of these special gowns to kids who need them. You don't need to write a big check — just showing up and buying a lemonade counts as a step in the right direction.
This event is a perfect outing for the whole family. Kids Who Give believes children can be powerful givers, and Sweet Sips is a great chance to show your own kids what community looks like in action. Whether you want to volunteer, bring a group of friends, or simply stop by to say hi and show your support, all are welcome. It's an hour or two well spent — and honestly, who can say no to lemonade and cookies for a good cause?

Will you stop by Sweet Sips for Brave Gowns this weekend?
Hello, Kauai!
Gateway to Canyons, and the Garden Isle

Welcome to Kauai, Hawaii's oldest and most unspoiled island, where emerald cliffs plunge into turquoise water, ancient rainforests drape the mountains, and roosters crow at sunrise from every corner of the island.
Getting here from Raleigh-Durham (RDU) requires a connecting flight through a major hub — most travelers stop in Atlanta, Los Angeles, or Dallas — but the roughly 12- to 13-hour travel day is absolutely worth it. Nicknamed the Garden Isle, Kauai moves at its own pace, and it invites you to slow down right along with it.
Why Visit Kauai?
Nā Pali Coast: This 17-mile stretch of jagged sea cliffs on Kauai's northwest shore is one of the most jaw-dropping sights in all of Hawaii. No roads reach it — you'll need to hike the famous Kalalau Trail, hop on a boat tour, or book a helicopter ride to take in the towering green cliffs, hidden valleys, and cascading waterfalls up close.
Waimea Canyon: Known as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific," this massive canyon stretches over 14 miles and drops more than 3,600 feet deep, with walls striped in burnt reds, earthy purples, and rich greens. Pull over at the Waimea Canyon Lookout or drive a little further up to the Kalalau Lookout for a peek at the Nā Pali Coast from above — it's one of those moments that genuinely stops you in your tracks.
Hanalei Bay: Tucked along the lush North Shore, Hanalei Bay is a crescent-shaped beach framed by mountain ridges and taro fields that look like something out of a painting. It's the kind of spot where you can surf in the morning, grab a shave ice in the charming town of Hanalei, and watch the sun set behind the mountains — all before dinner.
