Explore Apex Community Park

Apex Community Park is the cornerstone of the Apex Parks system, spanning 160 acres of outdoor fun just minutes from Cary. The park centers around a beautiful 50-acre lake that offers something for everyone, whether you're looking to exercise, relax in nature, or enjoy quality time with family and friends. This well-maintained park feels like a true neighborhood retreat where locals love to gather and play together.
The park's crown jewel is a 2-mile paved loop trail that hugs the lake and provides a perfect backdrop for walking, running, or biking. About 90% of the trail is shaded, making it ideal for summer activities, and the mostly flat terrain welcomes beginners, families with kids, and leashed dogs. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife along the shores - you might spot waterfowl and other lake animals during your visit.
The lake is stocked with channel catfish and open to fishing with a permit, plus water enthusiasts can launch kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, or small boats from the designated launch site. Beyond the water activities, families will find multiple playgrounds, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, and picnic shelters to make it a full-day adventure.
