“Went yesterday and had that yummy barbecued pork sandwich with slaw, their delicious potato salad, and the excellent baked beans. It's all good!”

“City BBQ has always allowed Cary American Legion Post 67 to hold Fund Raisers for Veterans Benefit Live events plus their meals are great and the staff is awesome. Highly recommend this business.”

“I actually don’t love this place, it’s very ok food. I am though offended by the two response options that steer you toward a positive outcome for the survey. City BBQ is the fast food of BBQ.”

“The first place we ate after being in Cary for 30 minutes. Our dinners, including Thanksgiving, have been shared with family and friends. Plainly, a warm and friendly restaurant to bring everyone together.”

“Hearty helpings and the best green beans around. This restaurant consistently gives back to the community through fundraising and partnering with local schools and missions. Love this place!”

“We have liked everything we have had there. From ribs,to bbq pork sandwiches, my favorite is brisket with fried okra, Mac n cheese finishing it up with banana pudding. Had take out last night with family in town. ”

Cary Man Injured While Rescuing Pet from House Fire

A house fire on Crossvine Court in Cary led to a man being hospitalized after he attempted to save his pet from the burning home. Fire crews from Cary, Apex, and Fairview responded around 9:45 a.m. and managed to extinguish the fire before it spread.

The homeowner entered the house before firefighters arrived, sustaining minor smoke inhalation. He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover. The fire damaged the home enough to displace him, but no other homes in the area were affected.

Emergency responders confirmed that the fire was contained to a single structure, and no additional injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the fire or the condition of the pet.

Power Outage Safety Tips as Winter Storm Approaches

Central North Carolina residents are being advised to prepare now for potential power outages caused by snow and ice. Ice accumulation can damage power lines and trees, increasing the risk of extended blackouts. Taking preventative steps—like insulating pipes, sealing air leaks, and securing roof and gutters—can protect homes and cut down on heating costs.

In case of a blackout, food safety becomes a concern. Keeping refrigerator and freezer doors closed helps preserve cold temperatures longer. Stocking up on non-perishables and having a manual can opener ready can make food preparation easier during outages.

Staying warm safely is another priority. Space heaters should include tip-over and overheating protection and be plugged directly into a wall outlet. Charcoal grills and camp stoves must never be used indoors due to carbon monoxide risks.

Generators can be helpful but must be operated outdoors, kept dry, and used with heavy-duty cords. Improper generator use can endanger both residents and utility workers.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇

A: the water level and clarity of the Nile River

A nilometer measures the water level and clarity of the Nile River during its annual flood season in Egypt. These ancient, often subterranean, structures (columns, wells, or staircases) helped officials predict agricultural prosperity or famine, allowing them to calculate taxes and manage irrigation.
