Cary Spotlight Reader’s Feedback:

“Its our "go to" restaurant for an all appetizer meal, a soup & salad meal, or one of their wonderful entrees... its a regular for us”

“We had dinner there last weekend. Food was delicious! My husband had the Pan Seared Flounder and I had the Short Rib. We ate every bite of both dishes. The short rib was lean, tender and delicious! My husband gets the pan seared flounder every time we go there!”

“Great food & attentive service!” “One of our favorite places to dine in Cary! Great food & service!” “Great food and dining in a relaxed atmosphere.”

“Great food and wonderful service. The manager often stops by the check on our satisfaction. Half priced apps and wine on certain nights is the BEST!!!”

Buddhist Monks Bring "Walk for Peace" to Raleigh This Week

A group of 19 Buddhist monks launched a 2,300-mile "Walk For Peace" in October 2025, starting from a Vietnamese temple in Fort Worth, Texas. Their mission is to promote peace, meditation, and unity across the U.S., culminating in Washington, D.C. in mid-February. Now nearing the Triangle area in North Carolina, they plan to arrive in Raleigh on January 24, followed by a visit to Louisburg.

Their journey has captivated communities and social media audiences alike. Walking silently, often barefoot, the monks avoid political or religious rhetoric, instead offering presence and meditation. Many towns have welcomed them with open arms, offering shelter, food, and encouragement. Observers from various backgrounds have described the experience as emotionally powerful.

An accident in Texas earlier in the walk reduced their number to 18, but the group's resolve has remained strong. They continue to camp outdoors and engage with communities through peaceful demonstrations and teachings on Vipassana meditation.

The monks' respectful, quiet demeanor has resonated with people across religious and cultural lines. Their journey, marked by humility and resilience, has served as a living example of peace in action, attracting national interest and local admiration.

Just curious…

Public Invited to Speak at Cary’s January 22 Council Meeting

The Cary Town Council’s January 22 meeting will include several agenda items with potential long-term impact. Notably, Council will hold a public hearing on an annexation and rezoning request for over 150 acres near Ferrell Road in Chatham County. The developer is seeking to build 230 detached homes with open space and utility connections.

On the consent agenda, Council is expected to approve updates to the GoCary Title VI Program, ensuring compliance with federal civil rights requirements tied to transit funding. They will also review 2026 work plans for advisory boards and appoint a new full-time member to the Environmental Advisory Board.

In the wake of the December resignation of Cary’s town manager, Council will consider appropriating $150,000 for a third-party legal investigation into matters surrounding the resignation and $100,000 for an employee engagement survey to support organizational improvements.

Public comment is welcomed during specific parts of the meeting, and residents are encouraged to attend in person or watch online through Cary’s official channels.
