GoCary Seeks Public Input on Updated Title VI Program

GoCary is updating its Title VI Program and is asking for public input during a comment period running from November 17 to December 12. The Title VI Program ensures that GoCary services comply with federal civil rights protections, particularly in avoiding discrimination based on race, color, or national origin.

As a recipient of Federal Transit Administration funding, the Town of Cary is required to update and submit this program every three years. The update must include assurances of compliance, documentation of outreach efforts, procedures for handling complaints, and service data that demonstrate equitable access.

Residents can review the proposed program online or request a copy by contacting the Transit Program Coordinator.

Feedback can be submitted via email, phone, or mail, and all comments will be reviewed and considered in finalizing the plan. View the plan here

The Cary Town Council will review and vote on the final version before it is submitted to the FTA.

Next Town Leaf Pickup Scheduled for December 1

Cary’s loose-leaf collection service is active, allowing residents to dispose of leaves responsibly through curbside pickup and composting. The town will make three collection rounds, with the next scheduled dates on December 1 and January 5. Residents should place leaves at the curb by 7 a.m., no more than a week before the collection date, and avoid blocking public access or mixing in other debris.

Faster removal is available via weekly yard waste pickup using brown paper bags or reusable containers. Alternatively, leaves may be dropped off at the Citizen’s Convenience Center.

After the seasonal rounds, free leaf collection will continue by request from February 9 to March 31, 2026. Requests after that date will require a fee. Residents can monitor collection progress and find more information on the town’s website.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
A: Underground 🐝

Most bumblebees build their nests underground, often in abandoned rodent burrows or other sheltered cavities. Some species also nest in grass tussocks or compost heaps. Typical colonies contain 50–400 bees — much smaller than honeybee hives.
