LEAN GEEKS
🎙️ Cary Spotlight Connect – Episode Title:
"Turning Problems Into Progress”
🎧 Host: Dr. Chris Coetzer
🎤 Guest: Dr. Kenya Oduor, CEO & Founder of Lean Geeks
Summary
In this special episode, Dr. Kenya Oduor breaks down how Lean Geeks helps organizations deliver value by aligning people, processes, and technology through a human-centered, systems-based approach. She and Dr. Chris explore the “two sides of the coin”—internal teams and external customers—and how trust, clarity, and data-driven insight turn stalled initiatives into momentum.
Dr. Kenya explains common red flags (revenue dips, churn, missed deadlines), why anonymous surveys aren’t enough without the “why,” and how applied psychology plus design thinking reveal root causes. Real-world stories span nonprofits like Legal Aid of North Carolina, enterprise projects at Blue Cross NC, and a family-owned small business modernizing workflows and safety.
They also tackle remote vs. in-person collaboration, coaching newly promoted managers, and the delicate art of giving tough feedback—even to the CEO—grounded in qualitative and quantitative data. If you suspect “something’s off,” this episode shows how to diagnose, align, and execute for meaningful customer impact.

Cary Named a Top Soccer Hub in National Study
Soccer’s growth in the U.S. has accelerated in recent years, and Cary has emerged as a leader among midsize cities embracing the sport. According to a new WalletHub report, Cary ranked 12th nationwide among more than 300 cities studied. The ranking highlights the town’s role as home to professional clubs North Carolina FC and the North Carolina Courage, as well as its premier venue, WakeMed Soccer Park.
The park continues to serve as a key soccer destination, hosting college championships and national tournaments that bring significant visibility to the area. Cary’s strong placement reflects both its infrastructure and the community’s enthusiasm for the sport.
The study found that top-performing cities often provide affordable access, quality facilities and an active fan base. While Los Angeles, Orlando and Seattle led the list, Cary’s inclusion among the top 15 underscores its growing reputation as a soccer hub in the Southeast.
Other Triangle towns also appeared in the rankings, including Buies Creek, Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh, showing the region’s broader commitment to the game. With the FIFA World Cup coming to North America in 2026, local interest in soccer is expected to continue building. Read Full Article
