Strategic Community Positioning

Getting discovered isn't the goal. Being recognized is.

When someone Googles "contractors near me," they're starting from zero trust. When a neighbor mentions your name in conversation, you're starting from credibility.

Strategic community positioning ensures you're the business people think of first - not the one they have to research to trust.

Best Times to Drive This Weekend to Avoid Delays

Labor Day weekend travel is underway, and AAA anticipates heavy traffic across North Carolina. While conditions were manageable Friday morning on Interstate 40 near the Wake–Johnston County line, congestion is expected to increase over the weekend.

The travel organization warns that the busiest times on the roads will be Saturday and Monday afternoon, when holiday traffic merges with regular commuter patterns. To avoid backups, AAA suggests leaving early in the morning or, on Labor Day itself, before 2 p.m.

Drivers are also urged to check their vehicles before starting trips. AAA recommends inspecting tires, batteries, windshield wipers, brakes, and fluids, and carrying an emergency kit to reduce the risk of being stranded.

Falling fuel costs may ease travel expenses. Gas prices in North Carolina average $2.89 a gallon, down from $3.14 last year, while the national average has dropped from $3.36 to $3.20. Read Full Story

The Hidden Cost of Cheap Estate Plans

Many people assume that all estate plans are essentially the same, leading them to choose the cheapest option. In reality, bargain plans often consist of generic documents that are neither customized nor maintained over time. This approach leaves gaps that can create costly problems when incapacity or death occurs.

Key issues with low-cost plans include the failure to retitle assets, lack of attention to beneficiary designations, inadequate protection for minor children, and no system for updating plans as life changes. Families are often left with outdated documents and no guidance, resulting in expensive court proceedings, financial missteps, and emotional strain.

In contrast, a Life & Legacy Plan goes beyond paperwork. It includes regular reviews, proactive updates, and a thoughtful process to capture both financial and personal legacies. This ensures that a plan works as intended when it is needed most and that families have the clarity and support they require.

Ultimately, estate planning is not just about creating documents but about preparing for life’s uncertainties. A comprehensive plan offers peace of mind today and prevents unnecessary hardship for loved ones in the future.

74% Back School Zone Speed Cameras

Cary Spotlight readers largely support a new North Carolina law allowing speed cameras in school zones, with 74.07 percent saying it’s a smart way to protect students. The law seeks to reduce traffic violations in school areas using automated enforcement rather than increased police presence.

A smaller portion of readers, 14.81 percent, opposed the move, citing concerns about government overreach or doubting the effectiveness of the cameras. An additional 5.56 percent said they weren’t sure how they felt about the cameras, while another 5.56 percent said the change wouldn’t affect them personally.

The poll responses suggest that while there’s strong backing for the new law, a minority of readers remain unconvinced about the method or its impact. Read Original Article

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
In 1969, Skamania County, Washington, passed a unique ordinance making it illegal to intentionally kill Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch. The law declared that any “premeditated, willful and wanton slaying” of the creature would be treated as a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. This playful yet protective measure even led to the later creation of a designated “Sasquatch refuge” in the county.
