William Peace University Offers Discounted Tuition

Wake Technical Community College and William Peace University have expanded their “Peace Pathways” partnership, providing guaranteed admission and reduced tuition for Wake Tech graduates who pursue a four-year degree. The updated agreement was formalized at a ceremony on Wake Tech’s Northern Campus.

Eligible students—those who complete an associate’s degree—can apply to William Peace without paying an application fee. Tuition under the program is set at $10,000 annually for in-person instruction and $290 per credit for online classes.

This initiative is designed to remove financial and procedural barriers that often hinder community college graduates from continuing their education. Courses completed at Wake Tech transfer directly to William Peace, streamlining the transition and maximizing students’ earlier academic work.

Key academic tracks include human resources, nursing, and criminal justice. With affordability and access as central goals, the program is already benefiting students enrolled this fall and is positioned to support many more in the years ahead.

Sports Tourism Strengthens Cary’s Economy and Community

Cary has built a reputation as a destination for major sports through three facilities: WakeMed Soccer Park, the USA Baseball National Training Complex, and Cary Tennis Park. These venues regularly host national and international competitions, bringing attention and visitors to the region.

WakeMed Soccer Park draws professional clubs and NCAA championships, while also hosting global events such as The Soccer Tournament, which alone generated more than $9 million in local spending in 2024. Long-term NCAA commitments through 2038 further secure Cary’s role as a premier host city.

The USA Baseball National Training Complex combines elite facilities with environmental responsibility. Its design features energy-efficient systems and stormwater protections while contributing more than $5 million annually to Cary’s economy.

Cary Tennis Park, with its 30-plus courts, remains one of the Southeast’s largest public tennis centers. Its annual tournaments, including professional and USTA events, add an estimated $4–5 million to the local economy.

Across all three venues, the benefits extend well beyond athletics. They strengthen Cary’s economy, attract visitors to the Triangle, and provide residents with accessible, high-quality recreation. Get More Details
