Explore Marla Dorrel Park
(Kids Together Playground)

Looking for a playground where every child can play together, no matter their ability? Marla Dorrel Park is home to the Kids Together Playground, a specially designed 2-acre space where kids of all physical and mental abilities can enjoy fully-integrated play in a multi-sensory environment that challenges both muscles and minds.

This 16-acre park has become a local favorite for families who want inclusive fun in a beautiful, shady setting. The park's centerpiece is Katal, a dragon climbing structure that kids love to explore, along with three main play areas designed for different age groups and abilities. There are winding paths perfect for tricycles and scooters, multiple picnic areas, and plenty of seating designed in whimsical styles that match the park's magical feel.

The playground includes roller slides, accessible see-saws, various types of swings including chair-style swings with harnesses, climbing structures, tunnels, playhouses, and even a sand area with scoopers. What makes this park special is its thoughtful design - partially enclosed by fencing for safety, with wide ramps leading up to play structures, and plenty of natural shade from mature trees plus built-in shade structures.

Families often spot the ice cream truck on weekends, and there's an Enchanted Misting Garden where kids can cool off on hot days. A paved trail connects the park to MacDonald Woods Park via a pedestrian bridge over US 64, making it possible to visit two playgrounds in one day.

Beyond the playground, you'll find a basketball court, multi-use concrete slab, picnic shelter, and open field space. The park includes spacious restrooms designed to accommodate wheelchairs and strollers, plus an adult-sized changing table. There's also a new Pop-Up Sk8 Park for older kids and teens.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
The Andes Mountains are the longest continental mountain range on Earth, stretching approximately 7,000 kilometers (4,350 miles) along the western edge of South America. They span seven countries—Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina—and are home to incredible biodiversity, ancient Incan ruins like Machu Picchu, and some of the highest peaks outside of Asia, including Mount Aconcagua.
