Hello, Cancún!
Ancient Ruins and Turquoise Waters

Welcome to Cancún, Mexico, a place where pristine white sand beaches meet ancient Mayan temples, where crystal-clear cenotes hide beneath jungle canopies, and where world-class resorts offer the perfect base for both relaxation and adventure. With direct flights from RDU (Raleigh-Durham) to Cancún International Airport (CUN), this Caribbean paradise is just a few hours away. Whether you're seeking archaeological wonders, underwater exploration, or simply the perfect beach day, Cancún delivers an unforgettable blend of natural beauty and rich cultural history.

Why Visit Cancún?

  • Chichen Itza: This UNESCO World Heritage Site stands as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and showcases the incredible achievements of Mayan civilization. Visitors can explore the iconic El Castillo pyramid, the Great Ball Court, and learn about ancient astronomy while walking through this sacred city that once thrived over 1,000 years ago.

  • Underwater Museum (MUSA): This unique attraction combines art with ocean conservation in the most spectacular way possible. Snorkel or dive among over 500 life-sized sculptures submerged in the clear waters between Cancún and Isla Mujeres, where art becomes living coral reefs that support marine life.

Explore Cloer Family Vineyards

Cloer Family Vineyards offers a peaceful escape to the countryside without leaving the Cary area. This hidden gem sits on 18 acres of working farmland just minutes from downtown Cary in nearby Apex, where you can stroll through grape vines, sip locally made wines, and watch farm animals roam freely. It's one of only two family-owned wineries in the Triangle that grows grapes and makes wine right on site, creating five distinct wines from crisp whites to sweet blends.

You can take a free self-guided tour of the red barn winery, then enjoy tastings on the outdoor patio with chairs and fire pits. Bring your own picnic and make it a relaxing afternoon with friends or family. Don't miss the chance to meet the farm animals - sheep, chickens, and cows wander the property, and kids love petting them. The setting feels like you're hours from the city, but you're actually just a short drive from Cary.

Look for butterflies and birds as you walk the vineyard rows, and bring a camera to capture the peaceful farm scenes. The vineyard also features multiple outdoor seating areas perfect for groups, plus games like cornhole to keep everyone entertained. The family atmosphere makes this a great spot for celebrations or just unwinding with a glass of wine while watching the sunset over the grapevines.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
The fer‑de‑lance, a highly venomous pit viper, is considered the deadliest snake in South America due to the high number of human fatalities it causes each year. Found throughout tropical regions, especially in Central and South America, this snake is both aggressive and well‑camouflaged, making accidental encounters common. Its potent hemotoxic venom can cause severe tissue damage, internal bleeding, and, if untreated, death—earning it a reputation as the continent’s most dangerous snake.
