The Key to Better Energy and Balanced Hormones

Many adults overlook fiber, focusing more on protein, yet fiber is a cornerstone of midlife wellness. Consuming 25 to 30 grams daily helps the body eliminate excess estrogen, reduce inflammation, and keep blood sugar levels stable. These benefits support hormonal balance, consistent energy, and improved mood.
Adding fiber to meals does not require major changes. It’s the unsung hero of midlife wellness and most of us aren’t getting nearly enough.
Here are 5 simple ways to add more fiber to your day:
Sprinkle chia or flax seeds on smoothies, yogurt, or oats
Add berries or a pear to your snack
Swap white rice for quinoa or farro
Toss beans or lentils into soups or salads
Munch on raw veggies with hummus or guacamole. Fiber is a powerhouse when it comes to gut and hormone health.
Just curious…

Six Popular Foods Recalled Nationwide
A series of nationwide recalls is affecting several popular grocery items this month. Products impacted include chicken sausage, single-serve coffee pods, ice cream bars, Ritz crackers, store-brand tuna salad and YoCrunch yogurt. The recalls were issued for reasons ranging from Listeria risk to plastic contamination and labeling errors.
Kayem Foods recalled its Al Fresco Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage after consumers reported finding pieces of white plastic in the links. New Mexico Piñon Coffee Company recalled select Dark Piñon single-serve pods due to potential ink contamination from the printed lids. Meanwhile, Rich’s Ice Cream recalled more than 100,000 bars over Listeria concerns, although no illnesses have been reported.
Other recalls include Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches that were mislabeled as cheese, store-brand tuna salad products that may contain Listeria, and YoCrunch yogurt with sharp plastic fragments in its topping domes. Consumers are advised to check their kitchens, dispose of any affected products and request refunds from the manufacturers or stores.
While no injuries or illnesses have been linked to these recalls so far, officials warn that Listeria can pose serious risks to young children, pregnant individuals, older adults and those with compromised immune systems. Read full story

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
We goofed yesterday. Sorry. “There are literally scores of world capital cities with no McD's.” (Cary Spotlight Subscriber’s input).
Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland, is indeed one of the few capitals without a McDonald’s, but it’s not alone. Several countries worldwide have no McDonald’s at all, including Bermuda, Iran, North Korea, and Yemen. Globally, approximately 123 countries currently do not have a McDonald’s presence.
These countries have either banned the chain, faced economic or political barriers, or simply chosen to support local food culture instead. Reykjavík’s last McDonald’s closed in 2009, and it has never returned.
