Hello, Bermuda!
Pink Sands and Crystal Waters

Welcome to Bermuda, a place where turquoise waters meet pink coral beaches, where British charm blends with island relaxation, and where world-class golf courses sit alongside historic fortresses. With direct flights from RDU (Raleigh-Durham) to L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA), this Atlantic paradise is just a two-hour flight away. Whether you're seeking pristine beaches, fascinating maritime history, or championship golf, Bermuda offers the perfect blend of sophistication and tropical escape.

Why Visit Bermuda?

  • Horseshoe Bay Beach: This stunning stretch of pink sand is consistently ranked among the world's most beautiful beaches. Swim in crystal-clear waters, explore hidden coves, or simply relax on the unique coral-tinted sand that gives Bermuda its signature look.

  • Royal Naval Dockyard: This historic maritime fortress showcases Bermuda's strategic importance in naval history. Wander through converted warehouses now filled with shops, galleries, and the fascinating National Museum, all while enjoying waterfront dining and harbor views.

  • Crystal Caves: Located just minutes from Hamilton, these underground limestone caverns feature stunning crystal formations and underground pools. Walk along floating pontoon bridges while marveling at stalactites and stalagmites reflected in pristine subterranean lakes.

Explore Jack Smith Park

Jack Smith Park is a fantastic spot for families to beat the heat and enjoy some outdoor fun without going far from home. This 50-acre park, built on what was once the Bartley family farm, offers something special for everyone in the family. The park's crown jewel is Cary's first and only splash pad, featuring seven different water features that will keep kids cool and happy all day long.

The splash pad is perfect for children 12 and under, with gentle fountains, tall buckets that dump water, circular misting areas, and fun water guns kids can control. Parents love the shaded pavilion right next to the water play area, complete with picnic tables and clean restrooms. But the fun doesn't stop when you dry off – the park has two separate playground areas designed for different age groups, plus a 10-foot climbing boulder that challenges kids of all skill levels.

What makes this park truly unique is the whimsical public art scattered throughout. Look for three spinning whirligigs created from old farm equipment that dance in the breeze, plus nine life-sized sheep sculptures that kids love to climb and explore. The park also features a half-mile walking loop around a peaceful pond, a two-acre off-leash dog park (membership required), and plenty of picnic areas for lunch breaks between all the activities.

Good to Know:

Location: 9725 Penny Road, Cary, NC 27606 | Directions
Hours: Sunrise to sunset (park) | Splash pad: 9 AM to 8 PM daily (mid-May through mid-September)
Amenities: Splash pad, playgrounds, climbing boulder, dog park, picnic shelter, restrooms, walking trails, public art
Entry: Free!
Tip: The splash pad closes one day per month for maintenance, so check the Town of Cary website before visiting. Bring towels and consider arriving early on weekends to snag a shaded picnic table.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
Omega-3 fatty acids, especially DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), are essential for brain development and ongoing brain function. These healthy fats help build cell membranes in the brain, support communication between neurons, and may reduce inflammation that contributes to cognitive decline. Since the body can't produce enough on its own, it's important to get omega-3s from food sources like fatty fish, walnuts, or flaxseeds—or from supplements when needed.
