Cary Residents Have Until April 15 to Shape Parks and Bike Plans
Cary residents have until Tuesday, April 15, to submit their input on two important plans shaping the town’s future: the Cary Bike Plan and the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources (PRCR) System Plan. Online surveys remain open for a few more days — now’s the time to weigh in.
As Cary moves closer to finalizing two major plans that will guide community life for years to come, residents still have a chance to make their voices heard — but not for long.
Through April 15, online surveys remain open for both the Cary Bike Plan and the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources (PRCR) System Plan. These initiatives aim to build a safer, more connected bicycle network and to enhance Cary’s beloved parks, greenways, and cultural programs for the next 20 years.
With the deadline just days away, town officials are encouraging residents to take a few moments to review the plans and share their feedback online.
Your input will help shape future investments, improve connectivity, and ensure that Cary continues to be a place where outdoor recreation, mobility, and community engagement thrive.
Whether you’re passionate about better bike routes or eager to see more green spaces and cultural offerings, now is the moment to get involved. Visit Cary’s online engagement site to learn more and complete the surveys before the April 15 deadline.

Rising Costs Prompt Smart Shopping Strategies Across Central North Carolina
Shoppers across central North Carolina are feeling the squeeze as inflation, supply chain issues, and trade uncertainties continue to drive up costs. Essentials like eggs, dairy, and meat have seen significant price increases, while tariffs on Chinese imports are expected to push up the price of everyday goods, including school supplies.
Gas prices remain unpredictable, reflecting broader instability in the global economy. As families manage tighter budgets, experts warn that costs could rise further if new tariffs take effect, particularly for imported items like avocados and electronics.
To help offset these increases, consumers are turning to practical strategies. Shopping early in the week, buying in bulk for non-perishables, and sourcing locally from farmers' markets are among the top recommendations.
Additionally, sticking to a grocery list, using coupons, choosing generic brands, and steering clear of eye-level pricing traps in stores can make a noticeable difference.
Experts also advise that larger purchases, such as cars or home goods, might be best made sooner rather than later to avoid future price hikes. With a mix of mindful planning and small adjustments, families can navigate the rising costs more effectively. Read Full Report

Courage Stars Shine on International Duty Before NWSL Resumes
North Carolina Courage players made an impact across the international stage during the April window, with standout performances that showcased their growing influence in the global game. Manaka Matsukubo, one of the Courage's brightest young talents, delivered an eye-catching performance in her first start for Japan. She not only scored and assisted in a commanding victory over Colombia but also led the match in key metrics, winning duels and creating opportunities throughout the game.
Although it was a training match and won’t count toward her official record, Matsukubo’s contributions signal her smooth transition from youth success — where she earned the Silver Ball at the U-20 World Cup — to the senior level.
Meanwhile, Courage captain Denise O’Sullivan continued to cement her leadership role with Ireland. Guiding her national team to back-to-back wins over Greece in the UEFA Women’s Nations League, O’Sullivan marked her 122nd appearance, becoming the second-most-capped player in Irish history. She added an assist and delivered strong, steady performances across both matches, helping Ireland strengthen its position in Group B.
Elsewhere, Jaedyn Shaw added valuable minutes to her resume, coming off the bench for the United States in both friendlies against Brazil. Riley Jackson, another rising star, was called into the U.S. U-23 training camp, taking important steps toward inclusion in the senior player pool. Feli Rauch remained on standby for Germany but did not see action during this window.
Now, with international play complete, attention shifts back to the NWSL season. The Courage will look to carry their players’ international momentum into their upcoming match against Gotham FC on April 13 in Harrison, New Jersey. With key players in form and valuable experience gained, the Courage aim to continue their strong start to the season on the road. Read Full Report
