NC Wildlife Officials Warn of Increased Animal Encounters This Spring
With warmer temperatures settling into North Carolina, wildlife activity is on the rise, leading to an expected increase in human-animal encounters. The NC Wildlife Resources Commission is advising residents to be aware of seasonal behaviors, as many species enter mating and nesting season, resulting in greater movement and visibility.
One frequent concern involves foxes creating dens under buildings, a behavior that often leads to calls from homeowners. To discourage this, experts recommend sealing off crawl spaces, securing building foundations, and ensuring no open areas are available for animals seeking shelter.
Encounters with baby animals, such as fawns, birds, and small mammals, also increase during this time of year. Wildlife officials caution that many young animals that appear abandoned are not actually orphaned, as their parents are typically nearby. Picking them up or attempting to care for them can do more harm than good.
For those unsure how to handle a wildlife situation, contacting a licensed wildlife professional before taking action is the best course of action to ensure both human and animal safety. Read Full Report

Final Dreamville Festival Expected to Bring Millions to Wake County
The final edition of J. Coleโs Dreamville Festival is set to take place April 5-6 at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, bringing a massive economic surge to Wake County. With a high-profile lineup featuring Lil Wayne, Ludacris, and Erykah Badu, the festival is expected to attract more than 100,000 attendees over the two-day event.
A significant portion of festivalgoersโ86% of ticket holdersโwill be traveling from outside the area, with 70% staying overnight, contributing to local hotels, restaurants, and businesses. Although this yearโs economic impact report has yet to be released, last yearโs Dreamville Festival generated $10.5 million in direct spending.
The festival has played a pivotal role in positioning Raleigh as a major cultural destination, drawing attention from regional, national, and international audiences. While this marks the final Dreamville Festival, there is speculation about the future of the Dreamville brand and whether the eventโs legacy will continue in some form.
For those eager to experience Dreamvilleโs final chapter, tickets remain available online.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question ๐๐๐
Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus in 1818, making her a pioneer of the science fiction genre. The novel, which tells the story of scientist Victor Frankenstein and his creation of a sentient creature, explores themes of ambition, ethics, and the dangers of unchecked scientific exploration.
Shelley conceived the idea during a storytelling contest with literary figures including her husband, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and Lord Byron. Frankenstein has since become a literary classic, influencing countless works in literature, film, and philosophy.
