Losing an Hour? Tips to Make the Time Change Easier

Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 2:00 a.m., requiring clocks to be set one hour ahead. While the adjustment may seem minor, the disruption to the body’s circadian rhythm can lead to fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and sleep issues.

Experts suggest that gradually shifting bedtime by 15-20 minutes in the days leading up to the change is the best way to prepare. However, for those who haven’t planned ahead, simple strategies can still make the transition smoother.

On Saturday night, set your clocks forward and aim to wake up at your usual time. On Sunday morning, get outside for some early daylight exposure, which helps regulate the body’s internal clock. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and heavy meals before bedtime, and minimize screen time at night. If you feel excessively tired, a brief nap (before 2 p.m.) may help.

For those heading to work or school on Monday, it’s best to ease into the week by avoiding major commitments early in the day. Parents can help children adjust by keeping evening routines consistent and encouraging outdoor activity.

By making a few small adjustments, the transition to Daylight Saving Time can be less stressful, helping you stay energized and productive as spring approaches.

Just curious…

Gunfire on I-40 Leaves One Dead,
Investigation Underway In Wake County

Authorities are investigating a deadly highway shooting that took place Friday morning along Interstate 40 in Wake County, leaving a driver fatally wounded and prompting significant traffic disruptions.

The victim, Ricardo Baez Cardenas, 35, was traveling eastbound on I-40 near Harrison Avenue when gunfire struck his white pickup truck. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, and video footage showed shattered glass scattering onto the highway as a sedan was seen driving away.

Emergency responders arrived at 6:35 a.m., closing several lanes between Aviation Parkway and Harrison Avenue while they treated the victim and launched an investigation. Cardenas was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The incident resulted in extended traffic delays lasting past 11 a.m., as deputies worked to secure the scene and gather evidence. Law enforcement has not released information on any suspects or potential motives, and the case remains under investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Question 👇👇👇

Marie Curie, a pioneering physicist and chemist, discovered two radioactive elements: polonium and radium, in 1898. She named polonium after her native Poland, which at the time was under partition and lacked independence. These groundbreaking discoveries significantly advanced our understanding of radioactivity and earned her the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911.

In her own words, "Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained."

"Nothing in life is to be feared; it is only to be understood."
