Car Collides With Cary Home Near Crossroads Plaza

In southeast Cary, a car struck the side of a home near the intersection of Jones Franklin Road and Dillard Drive on Wednesday afternoon. The silver Subaru Forester, driven by a woman who lost control while traveling on Jones Franklin Road, veered off the roadway before hitting the structure.

Though the impact caused visible damage to both the house and the vehicle, no injuries were reported. Emergency medical services evaluated the driver on-site as a precaution. The front of the vehicle sustained heavy damage, and its airbag was deployed.

Authorities are investigating the incident, which occurred just south of the bustling Crossroads Plaza shopping area. Read Full Report

Triangle Braces for First Snowfall in Nearly Three Years

Winter weather is making its way to the Triangle, bringing the first measurable snow in almost three years. Snowfall is expected to begin Friday evening after 4 p.m. and could accumulate between 1 to 2 inches in the Triangle, with up to 3 inches possible along the I-85 corridor. Areas southeast of the Triangle may see less than an inch. As the evening progresses, snow is expected to transition to a mix of sleet, freezing rain, and rain in some locations.

The storm’s track will play a crucial role in determining precipitation types and totals. A more southern track favors colder air and snow, while a central track could bring warmer air and rain. Regardless, cold temperatures will allow snow to stick, with icy roads likely through Saturday morning and potentially into Sunday. Motorists should prepare for hazardous travel conditions and monitor updates as forecasters fine-tune the outlook. Read Full Report

From Summer Cup Hero to Long-Term Star: Marisa Bova Signs Through 2027

The North Carolina Courage have announced a contract extension for goalkeeper Marisa Bova, securing her through the 2027 NWSL season. Initially under contract through 2025, Bova has become a central figure in the team’s success, praised for her professionalism, growth, and leadership.

Bova’s journey with the Courage began after her selection in the 2022 NWSL Draft following a stellar career at Purdue University. During her collegiate tenure, she ranked among the best in program history, earning All-Big Ten honors. She made her professional debut during the 2024 NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup, where her exceptional penalty shootout saves helped lead the Courage to victories over Orlando Pride and Racing Louisville.
