Located at 1414 Tarbert Drive, this beloved park offers a rich array of amenities, making it a favorite for families, athletes, and nature lovers alike.

Marked by a welcoming entrance and shaded by towering pines, the park invites visitors to explore its playgrounds, ball fields, and picnic tables. Here, tennis enthusiasts can make use of six lighted courts, first-come, first-served unless reserved, while basketball fans enjoy two dedicated slabs for games. The softball and baseball field is also accessible, ready for friendly matches or more organized play.

Annie L. Jones Park is more than a hub for sport. It serves as the trailhead for the Annie Jones Greenway, a scenic route winding through the west and east branches. This popular greenway beckons walkers, joggers, and bikers alike, weaving through picturesque landscapes and offering a tranquil escape from daily routines.

Park facilities operate from sunrise to sunset, with extended hours for lighted activities until 11 p.m. or 30 minutes post-event. Visitors are treated to the park’s recent enhancements, including impeccably maintained restrooms and freshly renovated tennis courts. These improvements, along with a well-kept playground and plenty of shaded areas, have drawn praise from community members, who commend the park’s atmosphere and clean, well-appointed amenities.

Named for Annie Lee Jones, a dedicated public servant whose tenure as town clerk, finance director, treasurer, and tax collector spanned nearly three decades, the park pays tribute to her meticulous stewardship of Cary’s resources. Her name was officially bestowed upon the park in 1979, a testament to her lasting impact on the town. With over 250 attendees at the dedication, the ceremony underscored her esteemed legacy.

From peaceful walks along the greenway to spirited games on the courts, Annie L. Jones Park continues to foster community connections, bringing joy to visitors of all ages.
