Election Day Voting: Wake County Polls Open Until 7:30 p.m.
Today, residents across Wake County head to the polls, eager to cast their ballots in local precincts. By voting at assigned locations, residents ensure access to their full ballot, reflecting every race for which they are eligible. Those who vote outside of their designated precinct will cast a provisional ballot, ensuring that every vote counts, albeit through a separate process. Find your assigned polling location.
Polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a full day dedicated to welcoming voters. Curbside voting is also available at all precincts for individuals who, due to age or physical disability, cannot enter the polling location. Designated parking spaces and vigilant poll workers help facilitate the process, ensuring that all eligible voters can participate without barriers.
Editor’s note: Yes, in North Carolina, if you are in line at your assigned polling place BEFORE 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, you are legally entitled to vote, even if the polling station closes while you're still in line. This ensures that all eligible voters present before the official closing time have the opportunity to cast their ballots. Source
While voters with absentee ballots may not submit them at local polling sites, they can still deliver them in person at the Wake County Board of Elections Office by 7:30 p.m. today.
New voting regulations now ask residents to present valid photo identification when voting in person. If voters do not have ID on Election Day, they may still vote by signing an affidavit of reasonable impediment, explaining the lack of ID or citing religious objections or recent natural disasters as reasons for non-compliance. Alternatively, voters have the option to return to the Board of Elections with proper identification within nine days post-election to complete their voting process.
These updated regulations ensure that every eligible resident, regardless of their situation, has the opportunity to participate in the democratic process, whether by curbside, provisional, or in-person voting. Election Day Voting FAQs

NC Courage Narrowly Defeated in Sold-Out Season Finale
In their final regular season match, the NC Courage fell 1-0 to the Washington Spirit, drawing a sellout crowd of 10,026, the club's second-largest regular season turnout.
Washington took the lead in the first half with a goal from Ashley Hatch, and although the Courage put in a determined second-half effort, an offside call nullified Tyler Lussi’s attempt to equalize.
With five lineup changes—the most for any game this season—the Courage head into the playoffs where they will face Kansas City in the NWSL quarterfinals on November 9.
CASA’s King’s Ridge Project Brings Hope to Triangle’s Homeless
CASA, a Raleigh nonprofit, has been tackling homelessness in the Triangle area for over 30 years by developing affordable housing communities across Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.
Their latest project, King’s Ridge, is a 100-unit housing development in Raleigh intended to reduce homelessness in Wake County. With on-site services like medical clinics and case managers, King’s Ridge will support individuals and families as they transition out of homelessness.
CASA currently supports over 500 households in the region, and this November, CBS 17 has selected CASA as its Three Degree Guarantee charity to further their mission.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
Greenland is the largest island in the world, covering an area of over 836,000 square miles. Although it lies between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark, and much of the island is covered by an expansive ice sheet. Despite its icy landscape, Greenland is home to diverse wildlife and unique indigenous communities. Its vast tundra, glaciers, and fjords make it a fascinating location for scientific research and eco-tourism.
For more information on Greenland, you can visit the National Geographic page on Greenland.
