Travel Smart: European Airports Offer Free Security Fast Passes
Travelers navigating Europe's airports now have a new tool to streamline their airport experience. Reserve by Clear, a free service, allows passengers to book security screening times in advance, enabling them to skip lengthy lines.
This service is an adaptation of the U.S.-based Clear system, which incorporates technology from Whyline to manage queues more effectively. Initially rolled out in North American airports, the system has found its way into European travel hubs such as London's Heathrow and Frankfurt Airport.
Each participating airport has the autonomy to determine which flights and gates are eligible for the Reserve by Clear service, so travelers are advised to check availability for their specific departures.
Although primarily catering to flights within Europe, the program is gradually including transatlantic flights, with expectations of further expansion. This initiative represents a significant step towards enhancing the efficiency of airport security processes in Europe, mirroring the benefits travelers enjoy with TSA PreCheck in the United States.
