Central North Carolina Grapples with Multiple Small Plane Crashes

This year has seen a concerning number of airplane crashes in central North Carolina, predominantly involving small aircraft.

The most recent incident occurred near Siler City, resulting in two fatalities. Another crash in Franklin County injured the pilot. Previous crashes include incidents in Chatham County, Rocky Mount, and Cumberland County, with varying outcomes from no injuries to multiple injuries.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) has also been a site of several crashes over the years, including a recent one involving a UNC medical plane. Historical crashes at RDU have resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries, adding to the region's aviation safety concerns.

The Cary Senior Center is extending an invitation to the community for an information session on international travel opportunities for 2025. This event, scheduled for Tuesday, June 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Cary Senior Center located at 120 Maury O'Dell Place, will feature Matt Menafee of Collette Group Travel. Attendees will have the chance to learn about two exciting European trips: the 'France Magnifique' tour and a Danube River cruise exploring Austrian and German Christmas markets.

TUNA STUFFED TOMATOES 🥗🥗🥗😋😋

These cold stuffed tomatoes are quick to prepare and look effortlessly impressive! Perfect for a light Lunch, snack or appetizer.

RECIPE:

Ingredients

3-4 Tomatoes

1 Tin 160g/5.6oz Tuna, drained

1 Large Hard Boiled Egg, finely chopped

3 Tbls Finely chopped onion

3 Tbls Mayonnaise

1 Tsp Dijon Mustard

1 Tbls Chopped Fresh Mint

Tiny squeeze of lemon juice

Salt & Pepper

Method:

Make tuna salad by mixing all ingredients together except tomatoes in a bowl.

Prepare tomatoes by placing them top side down and cut into segments (star shapes) and place on a paper towel to absorb the water released from the tomatoes.

Place tomatoes on a serving plate and with a teaspoon fill tuna salad into each one. Garnish with extra chopped fresh mint.
