Mistaken Identity Leads to Nightmare Charges for Woman 70 Miles Away
Amanda Kraynak was mistakenly charged with trespassing and resisting a police officer when another woman used her parked car to misidentify herself to the police in Durham, NC.
Despite Kraynak being far from the scene, the charges were filed in her name. She faced significant challenges in clearing her record, as bureaucratic hurdles at both the police department and district attorney's office initially hindered her efforts.
The charges were only dismissed after a media advocate intervened, illustrating the potential impact of mistaken identity on individuals and the crucial role of media in addressing judicial mishaps. Read more
NC State Receives $30M from Bezos Earth Fund for Sustainable Protein Research
Jeff Bezos's Bezos Earth Fund has provided a significant $30 million grant to North Carolina State University to foster the development of alternative proteins. This funding marks a pivotal step in establishing the Bezos Center for Sustainable Protein at NC State's Centennial Campus, focusing on cutting-edge research into plant-based and lab-grown proteins.
The center aims to advance sustainable food solutions in response to the urgent need for environmentally friendly agricultural practices. By exploring innovative technologies in plant and cell-based proteins, the initiative addresses the critical challenge of reducing the environmental impact associated with traditional livestock farming, which is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions.
The selection of NC State by the Bezos Earth Fund, from a competitive field of 40 institutions, highlights the university's strong track record in collaborating with industry leaders on impactful research.
The $30 million grant, which will be distributed over five years, not only supports research but also facilitates a broader collaboration network with universities across Europe and Asia, promoting a global exchange of ideas and innovations.
Moreover, the initiative promises significant economic benefits to the Raleigh area, potentially attracting more companies in the alternative protein sector. The research outcomes are expected to enhance the affordability, taste, and nutritional value of alternative proteins, making them a viable option for consumers worldwide, thereby contributing to global food security and sustainability. Boost Your Business Revenue with a Simple Website Addition
One of the most important parts of any business that I help is their website. With more and more people going to the web to learn about businesses before they actually walk through the door, what you do on your website is vitally important.
Today…
I want to talk to you about something simple that we make sure we add to each and every website that we put together for friends, family, and clients.
What is this MUST DO website add-on?
It’s an optin form that gives something valuable away.
(and the “auto response” that gets sent out after which drives business)
So…
How do you add a profitable optin form to your website?
First, decide on something that you want to give away as a bribe to folks that visit your website. (a special deal or some sort of insider information only you know is perfect)
Use a tool like “ConvertBox” to create our optin forms/page/dropdowns. Create your form and then put the code it kicks out on your website to get the form to appear.
Connect your Autoresponder (something like GetResponse and Mailchimp) to Convertbox so that all the optins get into a place where you can email all of your leads at once.
Write a special auto response email that sends your giveaway to everyone that signs up.
Write another auto response email that drops a few days later offering your subscribers a special deal if they come to your business.
Once a week or so, send out a special offer from your business to entice customers to come in (or come back).
Does this work?
The businesses we help set this up for, see an average new income of $5-10/subscriber each and every month. It’s all about getting it up and running and then taking advantage of it monthly.
