β€œTry to travel, otherwise you may become racist, and you may end up believing that your skin is the only one to be right, that your language is the most romantic and that you were the first to be the first.

Travel,

because if you don't travel then your thoughts won’t be strengthened, won’t get filled with ideas.

Your dreams will be born with fragile legs and then you end up believing in tv-shows, and in those who invent enemies that fit perfectly with your nightmares to make you live in terror.

Travel,

because travel teaches to say good morning to everyone regardless of which sun we come from.

Travel,

because travel teaches to say goodnight to everyone regardless of the darkness that we carry inside

Travel,

because traveling teaches to resist, not to depend, to accept others, not just for who they are but also for what they can never be. To know what we are capable of, to feel part of a family beyond borders, beyond traditions and culture. Traveling teaches us to be beyond.

Travel,

otherwise you end up believing that you are made only for a panorama and instead inside you there are wonderful landscapes still to visit.”

Professionalism at 30,000 Feet: EVA Flight Attendants Halt In-Flight Brawl

During a flight from Taipei to San Francisco, three flight attendants on EVA Air demonstrated commendable professionalism by intervening in a physical altercation between two passengers. The incident occurred approximately three hours into the 12-hour journey on EVA Flight BR08, operated by the Taiwan-based airline.

The confrontation began over a seating dispute when one passenger, attempting to distance himself from another who was coughing, moved to a seat that was already occupied. This led to a physical exchange between the two men. Swiftly, three female flight attendants managed the situation, ensuring the safety and comfort of all onboard. With help from some passengers, the attendants separated the disputants, allowing the flight to proceed smoothly and land in San Francisco on schedule.

Following the incident, EVA Air reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards disruptive behavior on flights. The airline also promised to recognize the flight attendants for their actions. Authorities in San Francisco were alerted, and the two involved passengers were detained for questioning upon arrival.

This event is not the first notable disturbance on an EVA flight; a previous incident in 2019 involved inappropriate demands made by a passenger towards flight attendants. Subsequently, EVA has made significant changes to its hiring policies, including the integration of male flight attendants into their crew. Read Full Story

Nearly 59,000 Passengers in a Day: RDU Sets New Record

Last Monday (the day after Mother’s Day), Raleigh-Durham International Airport set a new record with almost 59,000 passengers in a single day, driven by the dual demand of Mother's Day and local college graduations.

This record represents a 6.1% increase over the prior record from October 2023. Throughout April, passenger numbers were also on the rise, with over 1.3 million travelers, indicating a 3.7% increase from March and a 7.7% year-over-year improvement.

The airport anticipates further growth in the coming months, especially with the introduction of new international flight routes. Read full story

Paying Tribute to Our Heroes This Memorial Day

As Memorial Day draws near, I find myself reflecting on the sacrifices made by so many for the liberties we often take for granted. This day is more than just the unofficial start to summer; it's a day of remembrance and gratitude.

Memorial Day is Monday, May 27, 2024.

"Monday will be the most expensive holiday on the calendar. Every hot dog, every burger, every spin around the lake, or drink with friends and family... is a debt... purchased by others. This is not about all who have served... that day comes in the fall. This one is in honor of those who paid in life & blood; whose Moms never saw them again, whose Dads wept in private, whose wives raised kids alone and whose kids only remember them from pictures. This isn't simply a day off. This is a day to remember - that others paid for every free breath we ever get to take." - Unknown Author

This Memorial Day, as we enjoy our time with loved ones, let's also remember and honor those who can't be with their families. Thank you to all who have served and sacrificed. Your courage is the foundation of our freedom.
