Medical Plane Crash at RDU Hospitalizes Two, Investigation Underway
On Wednesday morning, a UNC medical plane experienced a crash landing at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), resulting in injuries to Dr. Paul Chelminski and pilot Art Johnson.
Following the crash, airport operations were briefly halted, affecting 70 flights and causing reroutes to nearby airports.
The damaged aircraft was eventually removed from the runway by Dean’s Wrecker Service. The NTSB is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and plans to release a preliminary report on their findings within the next month.
Both injured parties are receiving medical care, with Dr. Chelminski already discharged and Johnson in fair condition at Duke University Hospital.

From Wasteland to Wonder: A Guide to Rebuilding Earth from Your Backyard
"From Wasteland to Wonder" by Basil Camu introduces a constructive approach towards managing urban and suburban landscapes by aligning with natural ecosystems rather than working against them. The book explains how such practices not only help heal the Earth but are also economically and time-efficient. It's designed to be user-friendly, empowering individuals at all levels of expertise to participate in environmental restoration.
Camu offers the book for free online, promoting a culture of giving and supporting his non-profit, Project Pando. The content is organized into educational essays that explain beneficial natural processes and critique current damaging practices. It progresses to practical steps for ecological restoration and community involvement, advocating for a deeper connection and responsibility towards the environment.
Just curious…

Prom or Playoffs? Raleigh Couple Chooses Both, Goes Viral
Corban Doyle and Abigail Schalla, a young couple from Raleigh, turned their prom night into a viral sensation by attending a Carolina Hurricanes playoff game dressed in their formal prom outfits.
The couple, who have been together for two and a half years, carried a playful sign to the game that humorously favored the playoffs over prom. Their appearance at the PNC Arena not only drew attention from other spectators but also earned them a spot on the jumbotron and a memorable puck from Hurricanes player Jack Drury.
Following the game, which the Hurricanes won 3-1 against the New York Islanders, the couple rushed to their prom where they found themselves the topic of viral social media posts.
Their story was capped off by a special post from the Hurricanes themselves, celebrating the couple’s unique prom night. Read Full Story

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
Ralph Bunche was a prominent American political scientist, diplomat, and the first African American to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Awarded in 1950, his Nobel recognized his mediation efforts during the Arab-Israeli conflict in Palestine.
His work significantly contributed to the signing of armistice agreements, an unprecedented achievement at that time. Bunche's legacy extends beyond his peace efforts; he was also a key figure in the civil rights movement and played a substantial role in the decolonization processes during the mid-20th century.
