Dragon Boat Racing Returns to Cary at the 11th Annual Asia Fest
One of Cary's largest cultural celebrations returns Saturday, Sept. 19, bringing dragon boat racing, live performances, international food and nearly 100 exhibits and activities to Koka Booth Amphitheatre and Symphony Lake.
The 11th Annual Asia Fest, also known as the Greater Triangle Dragon Boat Festival, runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is presented by Asian Focus and the Town of Cary.
Organizers say the festival attracts approximately 10,000 visitors each year and celebrates Asian cultures, traditions, history and communities from across the Triangle.
🐲 Dragon Boat Racing Takes Center Stage
The signature attraction is dragon boat racing on Symphony Lake, where teams compete while spectators cheer from shore.
The races combine competition with teamwork and tradition. Registered teams receive a practice session along with coaching and equipment.
Away from the water, visitors can explore cultural displays, games, health screenings and a variety of performances throughout the day.

Food is another major part of Asia Fest.
Visitors can explore dishes and delicacies representing different cultures, including street foods prepared by local chefs. With nearly 100 exhibits and activities expected, families can easily spend several hours exploring the festival.
Asia Fest is organized by Asian Focus, a nonprofit that works to help underserved families overcome cultural and language barriers while connecting communities through service and outreach.

Fall festivities are coming to Downtown Cary Park this weekend as the Farmers Fall Festival returns for its ninth year on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Hosted by the Cary Farmers Market, the festival runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and brings together local farmers, food makers, artists, musicians and families for an afternoon celebrating Cary's local community.
The annual event typically attracts thousands of visitors and serves as the main fundraiser for the Cary Farmers Market, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates its weekly market throughout the year.
🥧 Yes, There Will Be a Pie-Eating Contest
One of the festival's most popular traditions is back: the pie-eating contest.
Visitors can also expect live music, children's activities, local food and a larger selection of farmers, artists, crafters and makers than can typically fit within the weekly market.
The festival gives the Cary Farmers Market an opportunity to showcase more of the people who grow, make and create products locally while raising money to support its year-round operations.
🧺 The Weekly Farmers Market Is Happening Too
The regular Cary Farmers Market will still take place along East Park Street, giving visitors another opportunity to shop directly from local growers and producers while attending the festival.
All festival vendors have already been selected, so organizers are not accepting additional vendors for this year's event.
