Question: How many amendments have been made to the US Constitution?
(Answer at the bottom of the newsletter.)
I Almost Threw Out My Keurig. It Wasn't Broken.
Every cup from my Keurig started tasting weak, flat, stale — so I unplugged it and stuck it in a closet. Then I learned the dirty secret of grocery store K-Cups: by the time a pod reaches your kitchen, it's usually spent months going from factory to warehouse to truck to shelf. The flavor oils are long gone. Some brands even over-roast to hide it.
The fix wasn't a new machine. It was fresh pods from Angelino's, a family-owned L.A. roastery that roasts, packs, and ships within 3–5 days — straight to your door, from 39¢ a cup. Over 1,000,000 happy customers. 50+ flavors, no subscription required, and 15% off your first order, applied automatically at checkout.

Cary Issues System Pressure Advisory After Major Water Main Break

Credit: Town of Cary
A 30-inch water main break early Monday caused low water pressure for some Cary and Morrisville customers in Cary's Central Pressure Zone.
The Town issued a precautionary System Pressure Advisory, asking affected customers to boil water used for human consumption for one minute or use bottled water. No harmful bacteria had been detected when the advisory was announced.
The original advisory was expected to remain in place at least through 12:01 a.m. Tuesday while Cary awaited water quality test results. Residents should check the Town's latest update Tuesday morning to determine whether the precaution has been lifted or extended.
The break also disrupted traffic on N.C. 55 Monday. Since the original road reopening estimate has passed, Tuesday morning drivers should verify current conditions rather than rely on Monday's closure information.
📌 Good to Know Tuesday Morning
🚰 Affected area: Cary's Central Pressure Zone, including affected Cary and Morrisville customers
⚠️ Advisory: Originally in effect through at least 12:01 a.m. Tuesday
💧 Water quality: No harmful bacteria had been detected when the advisory was issued

Cary Leaders Explore New Spending Controls
Cary's finance committee met Monday to continue addressing recommendations from a state audit that raised concerns about town spending, financial controls and savings levels.
Among the ideas under consideration is an independent citizen group that could make recommendations about Town Council compensation and benefits, adding another layer of oversight to decisions that directly affect elected officials.
Travel and conference expenses are another priority. Council members are discussing clearer rules and have even raised the possibility of a temporary moratorium if appropriate guidelines cannot be developed quickly.
The town is working through 39 recommendations from the State Auditor's Office, with two reported as completed so far. The finance committee expects to provide an update to the full council next week. Read Full Story

Courage Drop Road Finale
as Sanchez Chases History
The North Carolina Courage closed their three-game road swing with a 2-1 loss to the San Diego Wave on Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium. The result dropped the Courage to 12-9-3, but Ashley Sanchez continued her remarkable season by moving within one goal of the NWSL single-season scoring record.
⚽ San Diego strikes first: Gia Corley put the Wave ahead in the 23rd minute, finishing a chance created after a cross from former Courage defender Brooklyn Courtnall was deflected toward the back post.
🌊 Wave double their advantage: Mel Barcenas made it 2-0 in the 71st minute, finishing a quick San Diego attack and putting North Carolina in comeback mode.
🔥 Sanchez keeps chasing history: Ashley Sanchez gave the Courage hope late with a curling shot into the top corner for her 19th goal of the season. That leaves her just one goal shy of the NWSL single-season record.
⭐ What a season for Sanchez: The scoring surge is even more impressive considering Sanchez entered 2026 with 19 career regular-season goals. She has now matched that entire career total in one season.
The road trip ended with a loss, but all eyes will be on Sanchez as she returns to Cary with a chance to write another chapter of NWSL history.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
A: 27
The United States Constitution has been amended 27 times since it went into effect. While only 27 have been successful, changing the document is famously difficult. In fact, members of Congress have proposed nearly 12,000 amendments since 1789, but the vast majority never make it past the initial committee stage.
