I'm 63 With $1.5M. Can I Spend $10K a Month?
You’ve saved $1.5 million. Now comes the real test.
Can it produce $10,000 a month, or will that pace drain your portfolio?
Most retirees do not get a clear answer until it is too late.
The issue is not just how much you have. It is whether your portfolio was built to pay you, not just grow.
That difference can determine whether your money lasts decades or starts breaking down early.
Sequence of returns, taxes on withdrawals, healthcare costs, and whether the 4% rule still applies all play a role.
Fiduciary advisors created a breakdown showing what drives sustainable income and why the same $1.5M can produce very different outcomes.
If you have $1M or more invested, do not guess.

Cary Splash Pad Becomes a Hot-Weather Haven
Extreme heat is sending Triangle families searching for ways to keep children active without spending too much time in dangerous temperatures.
Downtown Cary Park has become one option, with families using its splash pad and shaded areas to escape the heat. Visitors said they are taking additional precautions, including water shoes and limiting time on hot surfaces.
Two large metal slides at the park were closed because of the heat, highlighting how quickly playground equipment can become dangerously hot during periods of intense sunshine.
Temperatures are expected to remain high throughout the week, making hydration, shade, and breaks from the heat especially important for families spending time outdoors.

How One Triangle Resident Is Cutting His Summer Energy Bill
Extreme summer temperatures can lead to significantly higher electricity bills as air conditioning systems work longer to keep homes comfortable.
One Raleigh resident says he is reducing those costs by combining Duke Energy programs with changes to when he uses appliances. A time-of-use rate alone has saved him about $20 to $35 during typical months.
Duke Energy also offers programs that provide bill credits for allowing temporary adjustments to certain equipment during periods of high demand. However, time-of-use plans require some flexibility and may cost more for households that continue using large amounts of electricity during peak periods.
For customers who prefer to stay on a standard rate, simpler steps such as adjusting the thermostat, closing blinds, maintaining HVAC filters, and using ceiling fans can also help reduce summer energy consumption.
What's your electric bill looking like this summer? ☀️💸
