Question: What is the strongest magnet in the universe?

(Answer at the bottom of the newsletter.)

I'm 63 With $1.5M. Can I Spend $10K a Month?

You’ve saved $1.5 million. Now comes the real test.

Can it produce $10,000 a month, or will that pace drain your portfolio?

Most retirees do not get a clear answer until it is too late.

The issue is not just how much you have. It is whether your portfolio was built to pay you, not just grow.

That difference can determine whether your money lasts decades or starts breaking down early.

Sequence of returns, taxes on withdrawals, healthcare costs, and whether the 4% rule still applies all play a role.

Fiduciary advisors created a breakdown showing what drives sustainable income and why the same $1.5M can produce very different outcomes.

If you have $1M or more invested, do not guess.

Explore Juliet Books

Credit: Juliet Books

Downtown Cary has a new spot for book lovers to explore. Juliet Books opened its doors on Parkthrough Street this week, bringing a cozy, design-forward bookstore to the heart of downtown. The shop is the passion project of Marcie Montague and her business partner, Kristine Seawall, longtime Downtown Cary regulars who wanted to give the area something beyond restaurants and bars. The store takes its name from Juliet Capulet of Romeo and Juliet, with Montague hoping to give the story a happier, local twist.

Inside, you'll find a well-curated mix of fiction, nonfiction, and bestsellers, along with a smaller selection of used books for browsers hunting for a deal. Kids get their own dedicated space upstairs called The Little Loft, a cozy nook filled with picture books and gifts made just for young readers. The shop also carries a rotating lineup of gifts from local makers and artists, including candles, notebooks, greeting cards, puzzles, and games, so there's something to grab even if you're not looking for a new read.

Juliet Books is also shaping up to be a community gathering spot. The shop plans to host book clubs, author signings, and story times, and offers a Reader's Card with your first purchase that builds toward discounts. There's also a small beverage menu for anyone who wants to sip something while they browse the shelves. Whether you're picking up a beach read or looking for a gift with a local touch, it's worth carving out some time to explore.

Just curious…

Hello, Granada!
Gateway to Palaces and Mountain Views

Welcome to Granada, Spain, a place where snow-capped peaks meet centuries-old palace walls, and every winding street seems to hide another gorgeous view. Getting here from RDU takes a couple of connections, usually through a major European hub like Madrid or Barcelona, with a short final hop or scenic train ride into Granada itself. The extra travel time is worth it once you're wandering the cobbled lanes of this southern Spanish city, where Moorish history, lively tapas bars, and flamenco music come together in one unforgettable stop.

Why Visit Granada?

  • The Alhambra:
This hilltop palace and fortress is Granada's biggest draw, and it's easy to see why. Wander through intricately carved courtyards, peaceful reflecting pools, and the lush Generalife gardens while taking in sweeping views of the city below. Book your tickets well in advance, since this UNESCO World Heritage Site sells out fast.

  • The Albayzín Quarter:
This is Granada's old Moorish neighborhood, and it's packed with history around every corner. Get lost in its maze of narrow streets and whitewashed houses, then head to the Mirador de San Nicolás at sunset for one of the best photo spots in all of Spain, with the Alhambra glowing against the mountains behind it.

  • Sacromonte's Cave Quarter:
Just outside the city center, this hillside neighborhood is known for its cave dwellings and deep flamenco roots. Catch a live show in one of the traditional cave venues, where the passionate guitar and dancing feel like a true taste of Andalusian culture found nowhere else.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
A) a magnetar

The strongest magnet in the universe is a magnetar, an exotic type of neutron star with a magnetic field reaching a quadrillion (10¹⁵) gauss (or 10¹¹ tesla). Magnetars are the super-dense, collapsed cores of massive dead stars left behind after a supernova explosion.

Their magnetic fields are a thousand trillion times stronger than Earth's magnetic field and a quadrillion times stronger than a standard fridge magnet.
