Cary Resumes Final Leaf Collection After Weather Delay

Credit: Town of Cary, NC

After a temporary weather-related delay, Cary’s loose leaf collection crews have resumed their final town-wide sweep. The program, which runs from November to February, provides three complimentary rounds of leaf collection per street. Residents can track progress and confirm their neighborhood’s pickup schedule at carync.gov/leaves.

To facilitate efficient collection, the town reminds residents to place leaves at the curb—keeping them clear of sidewalks, storm drains, water meters, and fire hydrants—by 7 a.m. on the first day of their scheduled collection period. Additionally, leaf piles should remain free of non-organic materials such as trash, rocks, and other debris.

While the standard collection is free, those requiring additional pickups can arrange for service at a cost by contacting 311. As Cary’s final collection round wraps up, the town encourages residents to stay informed and ensure their leaves are set out properly to avoid any delays.
