The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
After the Centennial (1971), traffic replaced water as the number one gripe of citizens. When someone would say, “Cary’s not what it used to be,” most of the time they has traffic in mind.

Joseph R. Veasy, the last mayor prior to the Centennial, said the failure to anticipate the effects of growth on traffic was the biggest mistake his generation of leaders made. In reality, town leaders had few options when it came to solving traffic problems. They could tell developers where to build residential streets, but the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) was responsible for the main roads into and through town.
