New Law Expands Pathways to State Government Jobs

North Carolina has passed a major state HR overhaul that emphasizes skills-based hiring, expands work-based learning and increases paid parental leave to 12 weeks.

North Carolina’s new Public Workforce Modernization Act marks the state’s biggest human resources overhaul in decades. The law changes how state government recruits and hires workers by reducing reliance on college degree requirements.

The new system will prioritize skills, experience, military service, apprenticeships and trade school training. It also aims to make the state application process faster and give agencies more flexibility in hiring and retention.

The law also expands paid parental leave to 12 weeks for state employees and teachers, a move officials say will help make public sector jobs more attractive.

The defeat also marked the final FIFA World Cup appearance for Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, bringing an extraordinary international career to a close.

  • England 3–2 Mexico: Fans in Mexico City witnessed one of the tournament's most thrilling matches as England survived a fierce comeback from co-host Mexico. Harry Kane converted a crucial penalty kick, while Raúl Jiménez helped spark Mexico's late rally in a match that went down to the final whistle.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
A: Camel Milk

Camel milk is widely known to be the most resistant to curdling. Because of its unique casein micelle structure, different protein composition, and high concentration of natural antimicrobial factors, it does not coagulate naturally or with traditional rennet as easily as cow's or goat's milk.

While experts have noted that it doesn't curdle easily, it is still possible to turn camel milk into yogurt or cheese using specific bacterial cultures and specialized fermentation methods.
