Rose Park Manor Supports Aging in Place for Cary Seniors
ommunity leaders, project partners and local stakeholders gathered on June 5 to celebrate the opening of Rose Park Manor, a new affordable senior housing community that expands housing options for older adults in Cary.
Developed and managed by Beacon Management Corporation, the community includes 81 affordable apartments reserved for residents age 55 and older who earn 60 percent or less of the Area Median Income. Located near downtown Cary, Rose Park Manor provides convenient access to GoCary transit, healthcare services, shopping, recreation opportunities and other community amenities.
The development was made possible through investments from Cary, Wake County and other project partners. Cary contributed $3 million toward the project, helping leverage more than $20 million in additional funding. The community is the result of years of planning and collaboration aimed at increasing affordable housing opportunities and supporting residents who wish to age in place.
Rose Park Manor also advances goals outlined in Cary’s Imagine Cary Community Plan and Housing Plan by expanding affordable housing options, supporting infill development and encouraging walkable, transit-oriented living near services and commercial centers.
Prospective residents can contact Beacon Management Corporation for application information by emailing [email protected] or calling (984) 370-7772.

Big Week for Courage Stars Before World Cup
The North Carolina Courage may not have played over the weekend, but the club still made plenty of headlines. From individual awards to national team call-ups, several Courage players are carrying momentum into the international break as the soccer world turns its attention toward a busy summer.
Weekend Highlights:
Manaka Matsukubo earned a spot on the NWSL Best XI for May after recording 3 goals, 3 assists, 15 chances created, and 35 duels won during the month. Her six goal contributions helped power the Courage to a three-game winning streak before the midseason break.
A club-high five Courage players received national team call-ups for the June international window. Riley Jackson joined the United States Women's National Team after earning her first senior cap earlier this season, while Manaka Matsukubo was selected by Japan following her recent NWSL Player of the Week honor.
Kailen Sheridan and Carly Wickenheiser were called into the Canada National Team for an international friendly against Costa Rica. Sheridan continues to be one of the league's most reliable goalkeepers, having played every minute for the Courage this season.
Forward Evelyn Ijeh earned a call-up to Sweden for crucial World Cup qualifying matches after scoring in three straight games for North Carolina. Sweden entered the week battling for the top spot in its qualifying group and an automatic berth in the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
As the Courage enjoy the international break, the soccer spotlight grows even brighter with the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicking off on June 11 across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, making this an exciting summer for soccer fans throughout the Triangle and beyond.
Cary continues to prove it's one of the best places around to follow world-class soccer, whether the action is at WakeMed Soccer Park or on the global stage.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
A: Cyprus
The Latin name for copper, cuprum, comes from the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, which was a major copper mining center in the ancient world.
The Romans originally referred to the metal as aes cyprium, meaning "metal of Cyprus". Over time, this phrase was shortened to cyprium, which eventually evolved into the Latin word cuprum. This etymology is also where copper gets its chemical symbol, Cu.
Copper is essential to all aerobic organisms. It is particularly associated with oxygen metabolism. Adult humans contain between 1.4 and 2.1 mg of copper per kilogram of body weight.
