An upcoming Hum Sub Youth Leadership Summit in Cary is designed to help students begin exploring those opportunities. Cary Real Estate Market Trends
Volume is up, prices are softening — a nuanced spring
March closed sales came in at 183 homes sold — up 26% year-over-year, a strong signal that buyer activity is healthy. However, the median sale price dipped to $605K, down 3.2% from last year, and days on market nearly doubled from 22 to 41 days. Meanwhile, April list prices are holding at $644K with current listings moving in just 26 days — suggesting well-priced new listings are still moving fast, while stale or overpriced inventory is dragging the average DOM up. The market is rewarding strategy, not just location.
Despite these short-term shifts, the long-term outlook remains steady. Demand continues to be supported by job growth in the Research Triangle Park area and ongoing relocation trends. Forecasts still point to moderate appreciation in the 2 to 4 percent range. In this environment, pricing strategy has become critical, as properly priced homes continue to sell while overpriced listings tend to linger.

A: Alfred Wegener
The theory of continental drift was proposed by Alfred Wegener (1880–1930), a German meteorologist and geophysicist. Wegener first presented his ideas in lectures on January 6, 1912, and published them more fully in 1915 in his landmark book, Die Entstehung der Kontinente und Ozeane (The Origin of Continents and Oceans).
Wegener hypothesized that approximately 250 to 300 million years ago, all of Earth's continents were joined into a single massive landmass he called Pangaea. He supported his theory by pointing out the jigsaw-like fit of continental coastlines (notably South America and Africa), matching fossil records of identical species on separated continents, and identical rock formations and mountain ranges across oceans.
After his death in 1930, new evidence from ocean floor mapping and seafloor spreading in the 1950s and 60s led to the acceptance of his core ideas as part of the modern theory of plate tectonics.
