Fundraiser Supports Teen Wrestler Injured in Weekend Crash

Cadence Miller, a 14-year-old student at Green Hope High School and a member of the girls wrestling team, was seriously injured in a recent car accident involving multiple teenagers. She remains hospitalized and is expected to need months of medical care, including rehabilitation and ongoing support after she returns home.

To help with the financial strain, a GoFundMe has been created to support her family with uncovered medical expenses, therapy, and other costs associated with her recovery. The campaign is also intended to allow her parents to remain by her side without the added stress of lost income and mounting bills.

Miller is known as a dedicated athlete and a beloved member of her team. The community has been asked to rally behind her through donations, sharing the fundraiser, and offering prayers and encouragement.

In addition to Cadence's recovery, the Green Hope community is also grieving the loss of another student, Lena, who was reportedly involved in the same accident. Support continues for all families affected.

Support Cadence Miller on her road to recovery by contributing to her GoFundMe campaign. Your donation will help cover critical medical expenses, therapy, and long-term care as she heals from a life-changing car accident. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.

Thank you for standing with Cadence and her family during this challenging time.

Just curious…

In light of the recent car accident involving local students, we're asking our readers to reflect on how we can come together to improve safety and awareness. How are you taking action?

Central NC Schools Close or Delay Due to Black Ice Risk

Snowfall and freezing conditions across central North Carolina prompted numerous school districts to adjust Tuesday operations. The Triangle saw light flurries, while areas to the north and east reported more significant accumulation, raising concerns about slick roads and black ice.

Several districts, including Wake, Durham, and Johnston counties, will be closed entirely. Others, such as Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Harnett County, are implementing delayed starts to allow more time for roads to improve.

Remote learning will be in effect for Halifax and Northampton counties. Person County is offering a staff-only workday, with students staying home.

As weather conditions evolve, families are advised to monitor district updates and exercise caution during the morning commute.
