Explore Preston Village

Preston Village is a popular neighborhood within Preston, one of Cary's most sought-after master-planned communities. Part of the larger Preston area that was founded in 1992 by tech giant SAS Institute, Preston Village offers approximately 718 homes on spacious half-acre lots with mature landscaping. What makes Preston Village unique among Preston's 30+ neighborhoods is its own private amenities—including a pool, lake, playground, and gazebo—available exclusively to Preston Village residents. Nestled between Cary and Morrisville along tree-lined streets, this family-friendly community combines the beauty of a well-established neighborhood with easy access to everything the Triangle has to offer.
Whether you're looking for a morning walk, a bike ride, or time outdoors with the family, Preston Village delivers. The Preston Village Greenway connects to Green Hope Elementary School Park and links into Cary's extensive 80-mile greenway system, offering paved trails perfect for walking, running, or cycling. The neighborhood's private lake features a fountain and gazebo dock—great for peaceful walks, fishing, or watching the sunset. The famous "Circle on the Green" at the community entrance provides a large grassy area where neighbors gather for events, frisbee, or just to connect. Keep your eyes open and you'll spot great blue herons, ducks, geese, turtles, and white-tailed deer around the lake, along with foxes, rabbits, cardinals, and woodpeckers. For the best wildlife viewing, try early morning or late afternoon walks.
Preston Village residents enjoy exclusive neighborhood amenities including a swimming pool with covered seating, playground, picnic shelter with bathrooms, and the scenic lake and gazebo. As part of the larger Preston community, residents can also join the optional Prestonwood Country Club, which features 54 holes of championship golf, 15 tennis courts, 4 pickleball courts, a fitness and aquatics center, and hosts the SAS Championship each October. The neighborhood is adjacent to top-rated Green Hope High and Green Hope Elementary, across from Cary Tennis Park with 32 courts, and within walking distance (1 to 1.5 miles) to shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. With easy access to RDU Airport, Research Triangle Park, and major employers, Preston Village offers everything you need for an active, connected lifestyle.
