Everything Else Sale Helps Families Declutter and Shop Smart
The Kids EveryWEAR Everything Else Sale is taking place October 17 through 26 at South Hills Mall & Plaza in Raleigh. Unlike typical consignment sales that focus on children's items, this event offers a wide variety of goods for adults and households, including clothing, shoes, furniture, appliances, bikes, and toys.
Sellers simply tag and price their items before dropping them off, with organizers handling sales and issuing payment after the event. This format provides a convenient way for local families to earn money and reduce clutter.
Shoppers benefit from discounted prices on gently used items, many of which are already in demand for holiday shopping. The event also supports sustainable consumer habits by encouraging reuse over purchasing new.
This twice-a-year tradition has become a staple in the Cary area, attracting repeat sellers and buyers who value its scale, organization, and community impact.
More information and registration details are available at Kids EveryWEAR's EverythingELSE.
Get Hands-On with Gardening and Composting in Cary
Cary’s Compost Education Center will host a Garden Workday event on October 15 from 4 to 5:30 p.m., giving community members a chance to help ready the garden beds for fall planting. Located in Bond Park, the center promotes sustainable practices and offers educational resources about composting and native plant care.
Participants can engage in hands-on gardening while learning from experts about composting techniques such as worm composting and grasscycling. The event is open to all ages, though children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.
The center itself is open year-round and features informational displays, demonstration gardens, and a loop trail showcasing composting in action. It provides a model for residents interested in reducing waste and supporting regenerative agriculture at home.
More information about composting initiatives and volunteer opportunities is available on the Town of Cary’s website or by contacting local services.

Cejka Shines at SAS, Courage Battle Back, NCFC Stumbles
It was a full slate of action in Cary this weekend with golf, soccer, and USL showdowns all unfolding under autumn skies. From a champion crowned at Prestonwood to a dramatic equalizer at WakeMed, local fans had plenty to cheer (and sweat) about.
Weekend Highlights:
Alex Cejka captured his fourth PGA Tour Champions title with a steady final round at Prestonwood Country Club, finishing at 9-under 207 to win the SAS Championship by three strokes over Ernie Els. It was the final event of the Champions Tour regular season, and Cejka walked away with $315,000.
Shinomi Koyama was the hero again for the North Carolina Courage, scoring an 86th-minute equalizer in a 1-1 draw against the Washington Spirit. Despite rainy conditions, 8,498 fans packed the stands—marking a single-season attendance record for the club.
North Carolina FC couldn’t find the net in a tough 2-0 loss to Phoenix Rising FC on Friday night. The defeat keeps NCFC in fourth place in the USL Eastern Conference with two games to go before the playoffs.
Whether it’s golf, goals, or grit, Cary continues to deliver the goods on the weekend sports stage.
Meme of the Day.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
The Nobel Prize in Physics 2025 was awarded to John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret and John M. Martinis "for the discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunnelling and energy quantisation in an electric circuit."
The laureates performed experiments on electrical circuits in which they observed quantum mechanical phenomena such as tunnelling and quantised energy levels. Their work showed that quantum tunnelling is not confined to the quantum world, but it can also be reproduced in macroscopic electrical circuits.
