Cary DMV Waits Top 5 Hours, Worst in North Carolina
Recent data from the NCDMV highlights ongoing problems with customer service wait times across North Carolina. The average statewide wait is nearly three hours, but the Cary location stands out with an average of over five hours, making it the worst in the state.
Other locations in Wake, Durham, and Johnston counties also reported long delays, often exceeding three hours. In contrast, some rural offices in Franklin and Harnett counties had significantly shorter wait times, occasionally under one hour.
Customer feedback from the Cary office points to a generally positive experience with staff, despite the extensive delays. Many emphasized the professionalism and communication of employees, though the overall time commitment remained a major concern.
No immediate solutions have been proposed by the NCDMV, leaving ongoing questions about staffing levels and resource allocation at high-demand locations like Cary.

Police Investigate Cary Parking Lot Shooting
A shooting in Cary on Tuesday afternoon left one man injured and another in custody. Cary police responded to the scene on McCrimmon Parkway, where they found the victim in the parking lot of the UNC Health Panther Creek Medical Office Building. Authorities say the shooting followed an argument between two men who knew each other, both of whom were reportedly armed.
The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Investigators hope to interview him once his condition improves. The man accused of firing the shot was detained at the scene, but police have not filed charges or released his name. Officials are working with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office to determine the next steps.
UNC Health temporarily closed the affected medical clinics for the day and confirmed cooperation with the ongoing investigation.
Police are encouraging anyone with additional information regarding this incident to contact them at (919) 469-4012 or anonymously through Cary Crime Stoppers at (919) 460-4636. Read Full Article
