Explore Cary Greenways

Cary's greenway system is a treasure that brings nature right to your doorstep. With over 95 miles of paved trails winding through this growing town, these greenways offer an escape into peaceful wooded corridors that follow streams and connect neighborhoods. Since 1980, Cary has been thoughtfully building this network to preserve open space and create safe places for everyone to walk, run, bike, and explore away from traffic.
The trails are perfect for all skill levels and ages. Most paths are paved, smooth, and wide enough for families walking together, joggers getting their morning exercise, and cyclists cruising at a comfortable pace.
Popular routes like the 7.1-mile Black Creek Greenway and the White Oak Creek Greenway connect major spots like Bond Park, Lake Crabtree County Park, and even link up with the famous American Tobacco Trail. Dogs on leashes are always welcome too.
Keep your eyes open for wildlife along these natural corridors. You might spot herons, ducks, and other birds near the streams, plus squirrels and other woodland creatures. The greenways connect to over 30 parks throughout Cary, so you can easily combine trail time with playground visits, picnics, or sports activities. Several trails feature exercise stations, benches for resting, and even art installations that make each walk a little different.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
The Yangtze River is the longest river in Asia and the third-longest in the world, stretching approximately 6,300 kilometers (3,917 miles) across China. Originating in the Tibetan Plateau, it flows eastward through major cities like Chongqing, Wuhan, and Nanjing before emptying into the East China Sea near Shanghai. The Yangtze plays a vital role in China’s culture, economy, and ecology—supporting agriculture, transportation, and hydroelectric power, including the massive Three Gorges Dam, the world’s largest power station.
