What Readers Think About Holistic Therapies

A recent poll conducted by Cary Spotlight found that more than 78% off readers have have tried holistic therapies or complementary medicine. Specifically, 42.42 percent said they had used these therapies a few times, and 36.36 percent reported using them regularly. Only a small portion of respondents—12.12 percent—were open to trying such therapies in the future, while 9.09 percent were not interested.

The results underscore a widespread interest in holistic health within the Cary community. This interest mirrors a broader societal shift toward integrative care, where ancient wellness practices are considered alongside modern treatments.

In light of these findings, Cary Spotlight plans to expand its coverage of wellness topics. Readers can expect stories from local residents, interviews with area practitioners, and practical tips on integrating traditional remedies with modern healthcare.

The goal is to inform and engage both experienced users and those just beginning to explore these health options.

Five Simple Ways to Stay Healthy This Fall

As summer winds down and fall routines pick up, it’s easy to feel a little out of sync. Just like nature, our bodies respond to seasonal shifts. A few simple tweaks can help you stay energized, balanced, and ready for whatever this season brings.

Here are five tips to make the transition smoother:

  1. Nurture with Seasonal Foods: Fall produce isn’t just cozy and comforting, it’s also packed with nutrients your body needs right now. Squash, sweet potatoes, apples, and dark leafy greens are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that support immunity and energy. A simple swap, like roasting seasonal veggies or adding apple slices to your salad, goes a long way.

  2. Move with the Season: Even if your summer schedule had you moving more, fall doesn’t have to mean slowing down. Crisp air and colorful leaves make for perfect walking or hiking weather. Outdoor movement not only supports physical health but also boosts mood and helps manage stress (a bonus when life feels busy).

  3. Protect Your Sleep Rhythm: Shorter days can throw off your body clock. Aim for consistent bedtimes and wake-ups to get the deep, restorative sleep your body craves. Try winding down with a warm cup of herbal tea or light stretching instead of scrolling before bed - it makes a big difference.

  4. Keep Hydration a Priority: Cooler temps can trick us into drinking less water. But hydration is just as important now as in summer. Rotate in herbal teas, warm lemon water, or nourishing broths. These hydrate while also supporting digestion and immunity.

  5. Refresh Your Wellness Essentials: Just like swapping your wardrobe for fall, your body may need a seasonal swap too. This is the perfect time to give your immune system some extra love. Nutrients like Vitamin D, Vitamin C, zinc, and probiotics play key roles in helping your body fight off seasonal bugs. Antioxidant-rich supplements protect your cells from oxidative stress, and skin supporters like collagen and omega-3s help counter the effects of cooler, drier air.

Quality matters - choose science-backed, bioavailable options your body can actually use (not just what’s trendy). The good news? Both my go-to brand - Three and my Fullscript store are running Labor Day Sales right now, so it’s the perfect time to stock up on essentials you’ll actually feel working.
