Tools4Schools Drive Aims to Ease Burden on Wake County Teachers

Wake Ed Partnership is inviting the public to participate in its Tools4Schools supply drive, aimed at helping Wake County teachers prepare for the new school year. The drive collects new and gently used classroom supplies, including paper, pencils, notebooks, and whiteboards. Donations will stock a free teacher store that serves educators throughout the year.

Teachers in Wake County often spend hundreds of dollars of their own money on classroom essentials. Through Tools4Schools, educators earn points they can use to shop at no cost, helping to offset that burden. Last year, nearly half of the county’s teachers used the program, with participation from every public school in the district.

The organization notes a growing need due to cuts in education funding and a recent freeze on spending. Losses in teacher training grants and mental health support have further strained resources, making basic supplies more difficult to secure. The supply drive runs through August 22, with donation details available on Wake Ed’s website. Learn More

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
Common Sense was a powerful and widely read pamphlet written by Thomas Paine in early 1776. Using plain, persuasive language, Paine made the case for American independence from British rule, arguing that it was unnatural for a distant island to govern a continent. His bold arguments inspired ordinary colonists to support the revolutionary cause and helped shift public opinion toward breaking away from the British monarchy.
