Cary Residents Weigh In on the Future of Biking and Walking

The Cary Bicycle and Pedestrian Forum brought the community together to reflect on transportation priorities as National Bike Month came to a close. The event featured town officials, transportation experts, and regional partners discussing how Cary can evolve into a safer, more multimodal town. Topics included Vision Zero efforts, improving crosswalks, and ongoing investments in greenways and bike lanes.

Highlights from the discussion included the Fenton development, where Trinity Road now features fully protected bike lanes, buffered lanes on Quinard Road, and shared paths along Cary Towne Boulevard. A protected intersection within the site, one of the first in North Carolina, offers a cutting-edge model for cyclist safety. Nearby, Hortons Creek Road has implemented buffered bike lanes with vertical delineators as part of a broader traffic calming initiative.

By blending community feedback with modern design strategies, Cary continues to build a connected, people-first transportation system. Residents can learn more or get involved by exploring the town’s mobility projects and upcoming planning initiatives online.

Cary Releases 2024 Water Quality Report

The Town of Cary has published its 2024 Annual Water Quality Report, offering a transparent, data-driven view of its drinking water system. Over the course of the year, Cary produced more than 8.4 billion gallons of water, all meeting or exceeding the safety requirements set by federal and state agencies.

The report details thousands of test results and outlines how Cary’s water system is managed from treatment processes to quality monitoring. Among the year’s standout initiatives, Cary advanced its Water Meter Replacement Program and intensified testing for emerging contaminants such as PFAS and 1,4-dioxane, which are becoming an increasing concern in water systems across the country.

In a particularly notable achievement, the town also completed a full inventory of its service lines, confirming that none are made of lead, an assurance that provides added peace of mind to residents.

Residents interested in reviewing the full findings can visit carync.gov/waterreport or request a printed copy by contacting Cary 311.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
The toothbrush is the most commonly forgotten item by travelers. Whether it’s due to last-minute packing or assuming one will be provided, countless people arrive at their destinations only to realize their oral hygiene tool didn’t make the trip. It’s such a widespread issue that many hotels now keep spare toothbrushes at the front desk—just in case. Pro tip: pack an extra one in your carry-on!
