Cary Police Charge Man After Inappropriate Contact Reported at Walmart

An unsettling encounter at a Cary Walmart led to the arrest of a Raleigh man, who is now facing a sexual battery charge. The incident unfolded on Wednesday afternoon, when a woman in the checkout line reported that a man approached from behind and rubbed himself against her.

Startled, the woman turned and threw a water bottle at the man, who left the store. Cary Police were able to identify and apprehend the suspect the next morning when he was spotted at the same Walmart. Officials say he made incriminating statements during questioning.

The man, 31-year-old Stephon Ingram of Raleigh, was formally charged and taken into custody. Police have not released additional information, but the case remains active. Read Full Report
