Woman Charged After Seven Puppies Found in Hot Car, One Euthanized

In Apex, N.C., a New Jersey woman faces charges of animal cruelty after seven French bulldog puppies were found in her car during near 100-degree heat.

Concerned bystanders alerted authorities, who discovered the puppies in severe distress. One puppy was euthanized due to its condition.

The owner, a breeder, claimed she had taken measures to keep the puppies safe, but her statements were contradicted by eyewitnesses and police findings.

The puppies are now at the Wake County Animal Shelter, and officials continue to stress the importance of not leaving pets or children in hot vehicles. Read full story

Courage Clinches Fourth Straight Win Ahead of Olympic Break

On Sunday afternoon at WakeMed Soccer Park, the North Carolina Courage overcame a challenging first half to defeat Racing Louisville FC 3-1.

After conceding a goal to Reilyn Turner and failing to register a shot on target in the first half, Head Coach Sean Nahas made strategic halftime substitutions, replacing three forwards. This decision paid off as the Courage scored three goals in the second half.

Ashley Sanchez equalized with a header following a precise team build-up. Manaka Matsukubo then intercepted a poor pass and scored from long range, marking her first goal of the season. Olivia Wingate sealed the win with a finish from a cutback by captain Denise O’Sullivan. Post-match, Olympians and USA Swimming were honored. The Courage will resume play on July 20 against the Orlando Pride in the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup.
