Patriotic Music and Fireworks to Light Up Symphony Lake on Independence Day

In a time-honored Triangle tradition, the Koka Booth Amphitheatre will celebrate the Fourth of July with a spectacular display of patriotic fervor and community spirit. The event promises an evening brimming with music, entertainment, and awe-inspiring fireworks, marking the birth of the United States with the grandeur it deserves.

The evening's festivities will be anchored by a performance from the North Carolina Symphony, presenting a repertoire of patriotic favorites and lively classics. The musical festivities will culminate in a stunning fireworks display over Symphony Lake, scheduled to commence at approximately 9:25 p.m.

A highlight of the celebration will be a live demonstration by the United States Veterans Corps at 6:30 p.m. This demonstration will feature a dramatic parachute jump into Symphony Lake, followed by a rescue operation employing motorized rubber rafts, showcasing the skills and dedication of the Corps.

Families can look forward to a range of activities designed to delight children and adults alike. From an ice cream eating contest at 5:30 p.m. to a series of performances by "Happy Dan The Magic Man," the event aims to engage attendees of all ages. Interactive games, including musical chairs and a trivia contest titled "Are You Smarter Than a Brit?" will add to the festive atmosphere.

The day's events will begin as early as 3:30 p.m. when the gates open to the public. A message from Mayor Harold Weinbrecht at 7:25 p.m. will precede the symphony's performance, fostering a sense of community and shared celebration.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnics, with the Amphitheatre permitting food and beverages, including beer and wine. While general admission to the lawn is free, a limited number of reserved table seats with parking are available for purchase. Preferred parking can be secured in advance for $20 per car.

Parking lots will open at 2:30 p.m., and general parking is free of charge in Amphitheatre-owned lots. Some local businesses may offer paid parking.

This year's festivities will be hosted by Nick Jordan of B93.9 New Country, with DJ Bri of Ryder Entertainment providing music throughout the day. The celebration promises to be a memorable experience, blending tradition, entertainment, and a heartfelt salute to the nation’s independence.
