Drug Sales at Downtown Raleigh Bars Lead to Multiple Arrest
An investigation led by North Carolina's Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) into suspected drug dealings at three Raleigh bars has culminated in multiple arrests and charges. After receiving initial complaints about illegal activities, ALE agents confirmed the sale of drugs at The Big Easy, Cardinal Bar, and Davie Bar, located in downtown Raleigh. Undercover operations facilitated the purchase of marijuana and cocaine directly from employees and patrons at these venues.
The probe extended beyond the bars to a residence on Grinding Stone Drive, where further evidence of the drug network was uncovered. This raid led to the seizure of cocaine, alprazolam, Adderall pills, and firearms. Those charged in connection with the case include two employees of The Big Easy and several patrons from all three establishments, facing serious allegations ranging from conspiracy to sell cocaine to maintaining a dwelling for drug trafficking.

Courage Fall to Dash Amid Season Milestones and Personal Records
In a gripping encounter at Houston's Shell Energy Stadium, the North Carolina Courage were outplayed by the Houston Dash, culminating in a 3-0 defeat that evened out their season series. The match saw pivotal moments just before the halves ended. Romona Bachmann, a Swiss forward recently signed from Paris Saint-Germain, broke the deadlock in the 44th minute, assisted by UNC alum Avery Patterson. Despite a vigorous effort by the Courage in the early stages of the second half, where they outshot the Dash without conceding any shots, they failed to convert their opportunities into goals.
The game was also notable for several individual achievements. Kaleigh Kurtz made league history by setting a new record for consecutive minutes played, surpassing the previous mark set by Amber Brooks. Casey Murphy, the Courage's goalkeeper, celebrated a milestone with her 300th career save, demonstrating her critical role in the team's defense.
Additional highlights included Bianca St-Georges making her 50th league appearance and rookie Landy Mertz debuting professionally. Looking forward, the Courage face a challenging match against the Portland Thorns on June 8, hoping to recover from this setback and regain their form. Read Full Story

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question πππ
Ernie Davis made history as the first African American to win the Heisman Trophy, awarded in 1961 while he was a star running back at Syracuse University. Known for his exceptional athleticism and profound impact on the field, Davis was not only a trailblazer in sports but also a symbol of progress in the civil rights movement of his era. His career was tragically cut short by leukemia before he could make his mark in professional football. Link to Bio
