Local Law Enforcement Backs School Board's Resolution on Gun Safety in Wake County

The Wake County School Board has unanimously passed a resolution to educate families on safe gun storage and the legal ramifications of negligence, amidst growing concern over youth gun violence.

The Wake County School Board's resolution aims to combat youth gun violence by emphasizing the importance of safe gun storage.

It requires school staff to regularly provide families with information on secure storage practices and the legal consequences of failure to do so.

Supported by local law enforcement, the initiative also includes distributing free gun locks to the community, highlighting a proactive approach to preventing gun-related incidents among children and teens (Safe Gun Storage Resources).
